Why does the sun have so many layers,is it because it's to protect the sun or is it to transfer light,heat and energy?

Solar air heat is best suited for installation in new construction and existing houses. Solar panels for any type of heating should be placed on a south-facing pitched roof, free of shade. The angle should be between 20 and 50 degrees. They may also be mounted on an angled frame on the ground or on a flat roof. Solar air collectors (the devices that heat up the air using solar energy) can directly heat individual rooms. They also can potentially pre-heat the air passing into a heat recovery ventilator or the air of an air-source heat pump. Solar heating panels can be one of the most cost effective ways to reduce your utility bills. This will make a positive contribution towards a better environment. Solar air heating systems often use large bins filled with rocks that store heat (although this method is becoming rare due to problems associated with controlling moisture and mold growth in the rock).

Energy Policy Act has implemented a 30% tax credit for consumers who chose to install solar water heating systems. State and local government programs are now being put in place to encourage the use of solar energy. Cash incentives are available for those that integrate solar energy technology as an alternative energy source. The Department of Energy (DOE) is working to design even more cost-effective solar heating systems and to improve the longevity of the materials used in those systems. Other incentive programs now include offering homeowners tax credits for solar panel installations and for solar heating systems. With solar power you will save money, increase your property value, help protect the environment and help to create a more secure America by reducing our dependence on foreign energy fuel sources.

A great solar heating system will save energy, reduce utility costs, and produce clean energy.

Does wearing black clothing in the sun better than color clothing, i.e. softball??


No. Black will be much warmer than white or a light colour. Black absorbs heat, white reflects it, so it is much cooler to wear white in the sun.

How does window insulation film work?


Solar control film (if that's what you are asking about) helps reduce heat transfer through windows. The film absorbs the UV elemnt of the sun's energy while reflecting the infra-red elements.

Passive solar energy can be used to keep buildings warm. Some buildings have large windows on the side of the building the sun hits. The sun's ray go through the windows and penetrate the heat-absorbent floors and walls. At night, this heat is released into the building.

After receiving the smart heater above ground pool sunheater I found out that it needs 6 hours of sun. The pool is covered by trees therefore no sun. Should I return the heater or will it add at least a...


The panel must have direct sunlight for it to heat. At 6 hours of direct light the 2'x20' panel should "collect" around 40,000 BTUs of sun heat energy. If water is circulated through the collector when sunlight is not warming it, the collector will act like a radiator and you will actually cool the water, so if you run your filter at night be sure to divert the water directly to the return and by passing the collector. So, if the entire area where the collector will be is always in the shade, it will not add a few degrees but actually cool the pool instead.
