yes it is repairable will not be cheap.a tech will have to do the convergence inside the tv,the remote only does so much.i have had 3 in the past and when they get older they become dull,i would not by rear projection any more years going back that was the only choose you had for a big screen ,now lcd and plasma have come down in price i would be looking at that if i was you.

Convergence ICs are smoked. Needs dis-assembly, replace ICs, maybe fuses, usually minor adjustment.

The Red Blue and green images do not "converge" or line up. Caused by heat, power line bumps, lightning, collisions with vacuum cleaner, etc. Small amount of damage happens with each occurrence. Eventually semiconductor material at junctions inside STK IC is depleted and will not handle normal current.

This sounds like a convergence problem. Use the menu functions to reset your set's convergence. If this is not enough, you may need to replace the convergence board.

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

you have lost the convergence IC`s in your set, this really isn`t a diy repair unless you are very proficient in un-soldering and re-soldering components, once replaced there will be an alignment procedure as well that will require the service manual also, if you have more questions feel free to ask away, video-tek

sounds like 1 of the convergence chips are gone theres 2 of them and better off replacing both as the other would just go a month down the line there might also be a resister or 2 gone, the price for that kind of job is around 150 +vat.
