SOURCE: Table of Contents TOC 4 appears with heading numbers in bold

Click on FORMAT, then STYLES AND FORMATTING. Select the TOC 4 style and un-select BOLD in the text option. This should solve this issue. :-)

Fat alloc error

> FAT ALLOC ERROR

FAT == File Allocation Table (like a 'Table of Contents' in a printed book)

ALLOC == Allocation

ERROR == ERROR

Some of the contents of that 'Table of Contents' are invalid.

So, copy all the files from the Memory Card onto your computer, to save a copy of those files.

Burn a CD/DVD disk with a copy of those files.

Then, "reformat" the Memory Card, to write a "new" and "empty" 'Table of Contents' onto the device.
Then, copy all the files back onto the Memory Card.

Memory card formatted but data not deleted

Try not using Quick format. Format doesn't delete data it just removes the index from the filing system so you don't see it and the computer can write on top. Google "delete data free program" on WWW and download a proper programme that deletes the contents of the card and then try formatting - you'll get better results.
GOOD LUCK

I also have problem where all my photos were deleted from the memory card while connecting the usb to pc. How can i retrieve back those photos?

Search online for "memory stick file recovery" programs.

Like reading through a book, page-by-page, because the Table-of-Contents is illegible, these type of programs will read through every file on the memory-stick, trying to "stitch" the pages back together.

My gamertag has gone from my hard drive when i plug myhardrive into the computer it says my profile is still there!

If it doesnt show up on your xbox then chances are its amrked to be deleted.

I cna explain it by storing a book.What I know when Windows deletes a file it does not take delete all the data immediately. It simply rips the table of contents out so you can't find it and when you start adding more files it will overwrite the data that was deleted.

I am not sure if its the same on the 360 but it would explain it.

Error code 0X80070571 with the external HDD

The Seatools test has verified that the "physical" hardware is working fine, which is good news.

However, the error-message "disk structure is corrupted" means that there is a "logical" problem. Compare it to a book with a Table of Contents that has been overwritten by a two-year-old with crayons;
the pages are not physically torn nor missing, but you cannot "read" the original Table of Contents information.

Connect the drive, and note which drive-letter that Windows assigns, e.g., 'E:'.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD and press ENTER
Type CHKDSK E: /F and press ENTER,
and let Windows try to reconstruct the Table of Contents on the disk.

Table of Contents TOC 4 appears with heading numbers in bold which I don't want. TOC 1, TOC 2, TOC 3 & TOC 5 are all okay

You can easily modify the formatting for a TOC. You will need to replace the current TOC - I'm assuming you are using the built-in reference to create your TOC.

Select Insert / Reference / Index and Tables. Click on the "Table of Contents" tab.

Click on <Modify>. Click on "TOC 3". Click on <Modify>. Click on the Bold icon to unselect the Bold attribute. Click on <OK> three times.
