Why does my paper shredder make a clicking sound when I try to shred a piece of paper?

Try putting a piece of paper in enough to start it running, but not so far as to go into the shredder. See if it will run for a minute or two. Sounds as though it may be over heating.

Clio cut out while driving and now won't start

If it made a 'whurring' sound instead of the normal cranking it may have broken the timing belt. If you continue to attempt to start it the valves and head could be damaged. I recommend having it towed to your mechanic

My Toshiba A505-s6975 laptop is having a speaker problem. The Left speaker will cut out sporadically, it will be working fine then it will start to crackle and cut out, and finally cut out completely. I...

Seems like a common issue with A505's. After a fruitless google search I basically went to speaker balance (which I had to google how to for win7!) and increased level to max for both left and rights and so far so good. Hope that helps.

This problem sounds like you have a NOISY or DIGITAL phone line. Press the MONITOR key and listen to the dialtone. It should sound static-free

Your fax machine needs a dedicated ANALOG phone line for optimum performance.

Speakers crackle, then sporadically stop

Sounds like an amplifer fault. Many of these Midi system use a large black IC attached to a metal heatsink. They control both the power amp and pre amp on both channels. When they go wrong they can cause all sorts of effects,
If you can repair things I would look at that. If not get ready for a large bill. If it's the IC some are expensive, it does most of the work!

Computer Sound Sporadically Cuts Out

i would advise trying the sound card in a different computer. it may not be possible for you, but maybe you have a friend that will let you try it on their computer. also, can you make the problem come and go by wiggling the connection? on my computer i have to have the wire just right or i lose the left speaker. i think you can solve this without having to reformat. what about headphones? do they work when plugged into the headphone jack?
