Lg tv remote app not working - Televison & Video

Press both Menu buttons for 10 seconds
Simultaneously press and hold MENU buttons on the remote app and on the TV itself. The factory menu should appear. Let go of the MENU buttons and press one of them again once (either on TV or on the remote app). Now you should be able to disable hotel mode.

How do I get Netflix to work on my LG Smart TV?
To do so:

1. Press the Smart button on your remote.
2. Then click the More icon near the bottom right.
3. Hover the pointer over the the Netflix App and a small x will appear above it. Click the x.
4. Open the LG Store App, search for Netflix, then choose Install.

Try unplugging the TV from the power source for several seconds. Also, pour new batteries in your remote.

I am a maintenance guy at a hotel and have seen this problem quite a few times, this pic i sent is an app on my phone that i can control any tv with, check your app store for an LG remote app or if you are unsuccessful there are plenty of universal remote apps, does your tv have any buttons on it, i'd check screen adjustment, source, tools, menu, etc make sure the original remote didnt get wet or sticky, if nothing else works factory reset it, hope this helps

If you throw your phone at the front really hard your TV and phone will both turn off. :-) just kidding

Try going to the App store for your phone and search remote control. should work. Mine does. Good luck.

You have to install ' LG TV remote' app from AppStore and make sure that both TV and your iDevice are connected to same wi-fi network. Launch the app and it should find the TV. There're two different apps in the AppStore for lg TV remote. Try both in case you're not able to one of them to work. Good luck.

I have the exact same problem, it started straight after the last os update. If u try entering the home screen right after turning the tv on it will allow u to enter but the apps won't initialize and the tv will lock up in the home screen as soon as u press any button on the remote apart from the back button. I have no idea what is causing it but if anyone out there has any idea of the cause or even better a solution can u please let us know.
