Do any objects hang down (or stick up from below) and block it? Is the shelf pushed all the way in so it gets water through it? Does it seem to be spraying water, but not spinning?

Try spinning it by hand to see if it moves freely. It may just be blockede by a small object in the water.

I have a Smeg DI 112-1 intergrated dishwasher, when i switch on, light 5 flashes continuously and pressing the program selection button does nothing,

i have had success with dishwashers that have a (frozen) motor this involves
1 turn off electrical supply and or remove plug from receptacle.
2 turn off water supply, usually under sink, hot water side.
3 remove the mounting screws that you can see under the lip of the ledge when dishwasher door is open, once these are removed
4 carefully pull dishwasher out mindful of the hot water supply line that is attached.
5 visually locate the main shaft, use vise-grips to determine if shaft spins freely if not use v_grips to turn shaft two turns or so, check by closing the appliance door and turning power / water back on then try running unit.
this technique will work for some, and only if a (frozen) motor is the problem. this is a temp fix but it is better than nothing.
thanx good luck.

Loud smeg spin cycle

Open the loading door and place your hand at the top of the inner tub, close to the door opening and lift slightly. Inner and outer tub should move as one solid unit. If there is play between inner and outer tubs, you likely have a tub bearing issue. That is bad news, but repairable if you have the ability to DIY.
If the tubs seem good, then look for a sock between the inner and outer tubs. Often it is in the upper left corner (but could be anywhere) close to the door opening so that you can grab it with your hand or needlenose pliers. If you give the tub a spin you may be able to locate it by sight and feel, or with a flashlight from inside the tub through the drain holes. Also look for an object that may be stuck in one of those drain holes, like a screw, etc. Let me know if this is no help, we will look for other causes.

Baumatic BFD60SS - Tablet not dissolving

this happened with mine and it turned out that the top shelf was too low, so this meant the spinning arm was being stopped by my plates. When the machine is fully loaded check that the spinners can move freely. if they don't then you can move the top shelf up a level. hope this helps

Smeg integrated dishwasher continually washing - won't move to drying cycle.

you should check the heating element. if the water is not hot enough, the timer will not advance. crack open the door mid-cycle. let the water stop flying around. then open it all the way up. if you don't get a big ball of steam, you have an indication that your heating element may not be working properly. this is not too hard to check the resistance with a multimeter and then replace, if necessary. good luck

Whirlpool Gold Mod GU2500XTPQ1

sound like a low water level and or pressure issue. Start machine on normal cycle after filling open door and ck water level. should be up toJUST below heater assy.. assumiong htats good set hte wash arms to a set positon so you can watch for rotation. close the door adn after a few secs open rapidly and look for middle arm to be spinning, even the top 3rd row arm if present, should be spinning spinning . if not its possible that the motor/sumo assy is blocked w/ foriegn debris. remove the lower spray arm (hold the nut and spin arm)then remove 4 or 5 torx 15 screws. probly pretty glogged under there. if not id look into replacing motor sump assy/seals worn and not throwing water where it should go

Smeg Dishwasher - model unknown

model numbers for dishwashers are generally where you can get to from the front, if they are noit on the front panel then look inside the door rim where the rubber seal is, either a small sticker on the door rim itself (inside) or where the door fits on the main cabinet, open the door fully to look for this sticker, sometimes placed under the front of the lid
