First, is the hard drive spinning and if so then, power the computer down and go to the hard drive and im assuming you have an older hard drive, if so make sure that the jumper settings are set to either master, or cable select (CS) this is an example of some settings http://i1.reclaime.com/jumpers.gif p.s it may be different for your drive and if in the future you decide you need more than one drive just set the hard drive you boot from or have all you stuff in to master and the new one as slave or cable select

If its too difficult to understand don't be afraid to ask
, Good Luck

Lap top will not boot need to know how to set the boot options in the bios

If you are interested in doing it more easily and quickly. I think you can try this computer boot up suite. When your computer crashes, cannot enter Windows, or you want to work under boot environment, this is your NO. 1 choice.

Tip

NTLDR is missing?

A missing NTLDR is a common start up error that can appear on the screen while booting a computer running a Windows operating system. This error may occur due to number of reasons.

NTLDR is short for Windows 'NT LoaDeR'. It's entirely involved in the loading of the operating system.

Many times this error is caused when the computer is attempting to boot from a non-bootable floppy disk/hard drive that contains no operating system or CD-ROM drive. Firstly what you've got to to is press the Delete key multiple times as your computer boots up until it displays the BIOS screen. Then you will need to find the boot disk priority setting. Make sure this is set to your drive that has Windows on it (as priority 1) and not the CD-ROM drive/stiffy drive or empty hard drive. You can set the CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drive to priority 2 if you like.

Once you have checked that and have set it to your master/primary hard drive (the one that you've installed Windows onto), save and exit the BIOS and on reboot your system should boot into Windows normally.

If you only have one hard drive and the boot disk priority 1 is set to it and you still get this message, then it means that your NTLDR is either corrupted or missing. In the BIOS you will need to change boot disk priority 1 to your CD/DVD drive. Once this is done save and exit the BIOS.
As the PC reboots insert your Windows install disk and let it load.

Hit [R] when prompted if you need to repair system files and then [C] at the 'Welcome to Setup' screen to start the Recovery Console. This will let you copy NTLDR from the CD to C:\

If this fails then you will need to install a fresh copy of Windows on your system. All is not lost though as you can still save your data that is trapped on the NTLDR missing hard drive. If you are not quite seasoned with computers and electronics then this is the job for a PC technition. Simply take your PC down to your local Computer store and explain your situation (Don't forget to take your original Microsoft Windows with you). They will back up your data, re-install Windows and the put all your data back on for you.

My dynabook T2 series says invalid system disk.what do i do please help me need notebook for school!

You will need to go into the BIOS. Press the delete key as your laptop boots up. Once in the BIOS you will need to locate the disk bootup priority. You will need to set the 1st disk priority to the hard drive that has your operating system on it. It would also be a good idea to make sure that no USB flash drives are plugged into the laptop when you set this. After you have set the primary device save and exit the BIOS. Your PC should now reboot and hopefully boot into your hard drive.

I have an hp compaq nc6320 laptop that i am trying to reboot and nothing seems to be working right, when i restart the computer it only makes it to the windows did not load properly screen and restarts...

1st of all you have to make sure your hard disk in enabled in system setup. maybe f2 when you boot. go into hard disks and see if your hard drive shows up. then boot priority and make sure your your hard drive has a check next to it because the check means its enabled. if not then it looks like you might have a bad hard drive. you can try to purchase a usb enclosure and install your hard drive inside, then take it to any 2.0 usb pc or laptop port and see if you can retrieve any important data then do a full format and install it back into your laptop and install windows again

Oprating system not found on my toshiba satelitte m35-s359

You typically get that message when the hard drive has crashed or if you're lucky there is a cd in the laptop.

Did you have any important information stored on the laptop like pictures and documents?

How do I boot up an operating system after my hard drive has been wiped

If your hard drive has been wiped then it means you will need to re-install your operating system onto it. To do so follow these simple instructions:

Step 1) Press the Delete key as your PC boots up. This will take you to the BIOS.
Step 2) In the BIOS find the boot disk priority. Set priority 1 to your CD/DVD drive and set priority 2 to your hard drive.
Step 3) Save and exit the BIOS.
Step 4) Insert your operating system install disk into your CD/DVD drive.
Step 5) The installation should now start.

Try changing the IDE cable which connects your CDROM to motherboard. Also make sure that Master/slave configuration are properly set if both the hard disk and the cdrom are connected with a single cable
