Sorry about your problem but you may need to replace that broken gear to fix your toy , or find a way to build up on that broken gear back to the way it was before, hardening epoxy may do the job, just use a small amount to build up on missing gear tooth then file away to achieve original gear shape and size.

I got a 1998 nissan maxima se 3.0L wont start ive put new starter, solenoid, relays, and ignition sw.I used to jump solenoid now dont work just starter spins never engaging help

If the starter is working probably and is mounted correctly then you need to look at the flywheel. Sounds like teeth may be missing. The gear on the starter should move forward and turn. The forward motion allows the teeth on the starter gear to connect with the teeth on the flywheel.

Runs but doesn't take paper in and shred

IF the cutters aren't moving, then it's probably a broken/stripped gear or a gear with missing teeth.
Look inside the slot where you would place the paper and see if the cutters are moving. If they are not moving, then it will have to be taken apart to find out why. (Probably a gear problem.)
Good luck

Blades not moving on ss24 weedeater

I just disassembled a SS24 hedge trimmer that had the same problem of the blades not moving. The problem is that there are 2 or 3 teeth on the helical gear that are missing. Consequently, the small gear on the motor shaft cannot continuously engage the gear that moves the blades back and forth.

Reverse gear

it could be that reverse gear has been partially stripped. when we talk gears we are literally talking of mechanical gears. sometimes teeth break off from normal wear and tear, after so many break off the gear has trouble engaging. you will either have to have the transmission rebuilt or have new one installed, hope its under warranty this kind of work can be costly. Most likely this is the problem. If your car is standard transmission it could be your clutch is having trouble engaging, but this would also affect forward gears so it is most likely your reverse gear is missing teeth
