Question about Maytag Dependable Care LAT9206
Maytag Dependable Care LAT9206 Fills with water, skips wash and rinse cycle, starts spin cycle and sprays water out of the top. I have tried replacing the timer unit that the knob hooks to, did not change anything. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Steven Hill
I would look at lid switch on this model and plunger to lid .Under lid is spray flume that can be damaged by large loads ,check that close. put it in wash full and drop lid hard it may come on.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much for your post. it registers that the lid is closed, other wise I don't think it wouldn't go into spin mode. it fills up like normal, but then skips the wash and rinse, doesn't drain, and goes straight to spin while full of water."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The following link explains the problem you are having with your Maytag:
It is common for the brakes on Maytag top loaders to wear and make noise, as well, as the snubber. There is a helpful tip that you can try to quieten the noise if it is the snubber. DO NOT oil it, or lubricate with any petroleum based products! This will ruin the unit and actually make the problem worse. NOTE: If the snubber is excessively worn, it was also cause vibration on the spin cycle.
If the brakes are worn, however, you can put a light film of oil on the brake pad. It is common for the pad to collect moisture in humid and damp climates and start to squeak against the brake stator. The brake pad consists of a rotor with a leather edge (pad). The leather can absorb moisture and begin to squeak against the brake stator. Oiling it slightly will get rid of the noise.
Confused? If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information useful.
NOTE: There is a follow-up comment at the bottom of the link I provided from another user. The method this person used to release the tension on the brake can save you from having to purchase the brake release tool.

The belt turn the pulley, but the height of the pulley is worn out so it didn't push up a mechanism to release the brake and to engage with the clutch to make the spin.
You have to takethe shaft out to study how it works then it makes sense on what I 'm talking.
The pulley cost only $11 but it is a major laboring exercise. It is a good learning to have hands on to this problem. Good luck on replacing the pulley.

SOURCE: Maytag Atlantis MAV6257AWW
I have a Maytag Atlantis MAV6257AWW. I need to replace the transmission. So I removed all four screws from the inner tub but I couldnt get the inner tub pull out, it's stuck.
From what I read on here, the seal nut doesn't have to be remove in order to remove the inner tub.
I tried every, I even hammer the shaft down from the inside of the tub but still no luck. Can someone help, thanks.
