The wifi card is particular to your machine. Use a wired connection. You should be able to achieve 100Mb with a lan cable

Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW Ultimate N 633ANHMW Wireless Adapter Mini PCI Express Up to 450Mbps Wireless Data Rates WPA2 from Newegg and plan on attempting to swap it out this weekend. The only potential "issue" I can see is that the new card uses 3 antennae whereas the original only 2. That shouldn't be a major hindrance though as I have already crafted a third wire with the antenna plug and will route that inside the case somehow.

what is the 3rd wire for?

How can i us wlan or wifi on my desktop

Most older desktop motherboards are not set up with Wi-Fi capability, the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to add Wi-Fi to your desktop is to purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

I've used the Panda Wi-Fi adapters (Available online, such as or pretty much any computer store).

Amazon com Panda 300Mbps Wireless USB Adapter Windows Vista 7 8 8 1 10...

Amazon com Panda Ultra 150Mbps Wireless USB Adapter Windows XP Vista 7 8 8...

An alternative would be to purchase a wireless NIC card to install into your Desktop PC. You would have to examine your PC to determine what form factor and technology to purchase that would be compatible with your motherboard and available expansion card slots.

Install bletooth and wifi card

Try using a USB type adapter. You can get them at Tiger Direct.

When the site comes up just type in the search box: "usb bluetooth adapter" or "usb wireless adapter". Type it in the search box at the top of the website then press GO. Sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Connect 2nd monitor to small form factor dc5800

You have 2 options to connect an additional monitor to your desktop:

1. install a low profile video card that has multiple video outputs
2. purchase a USB to VGA/DVI device to allow a 2nd monitor to be connected.

Your model PC does not have a DisplayPort on it (newer PC's have this and this provides another monitor connection). So you will need to add hardware to the PC so you can connect the 2nd monitor.

Because you have the "Small Form Factor" model, standard height video cards will not fit in it. You would need to get the shorter model video card - typically labeled "low profile".

The other option is to purchase a USB to VGA or USB to DVI adapter that would allow you to connect the second monitor to your PC. The only thing to watch for when getting this type of adapter is to make sure your current Operating System is supported by the adapter. Many adapters that work on Windows XP will not work with Windows 7 or 8.

Dell 1735 computer drops wifi connection whenever it feels like intermittently

There are a number of things that can cause interference for your wifi connection. Everything from the number of walls between you and your router, any other wireless items in your house from phones to baby monitors, and depending on how close you are to your neighbors, their equipment may interfere with yours. The type of wireless you are using can also effect your connection. The Wireless N standard provides for the best speed and connection strength, with the speed as much as 8 times faster, and the signal strength better by a factor of 4.If you are not already using the N standard I would definitely suggest switching over to that standard.
If you do have a clear path to your router, and are not really getting any interference from other equipment, it is possible that you have an issue with either your wifi card or router. I would make sure you have the most up to date drivers for both pieces of equipment as that will go a long way towards eliminating the problem.

There is another driver for this laptop that's a different type of wifi card.
that's one but that's for WinXP
Here's a site where all the drivers for that particular model
You can go down by each one until you find the correct driver or you can take off the wifi cover under the laptop and look at the wifi card and it will tell you which model it is so that you won't have to try each one till you find the correct driver.
