Question about Apple iMac Computers & Internet
OS maverick slows to crawl after time capsule incremental backup completes. Checked by stopping Time Capsule incremental backup and system remains stable and quick, switch back on time capsule and after incremental backup apps do not respond, constant kaleidoscope busy indicator, cannot launch apps, close apps - nothing works. Only solution is a manually forces re-boot via on/off switch.
This is not a Hard Drive problem. I am having issues with Time Machine as well after moving to Mavericks. I have tried three different drives and one I securely erased / reformatted. Mavericks fail.

Reboot and flash/reset PRAM hold down cmd+Alt+P+R keys when up and running repair Permissions (in DiskUtility).
OR restart hold down Alt key choose Recovery HD --use Disk Utility to check main hard drive for repairs etc

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hi Sorry to hear you're having trouble,
There have been some recent updates for the Airport and Time Capsule product line.
One of the many features of these products is that when an update is available, the green light turns amber ( a little weaker than the error yellow color )
Try connecting to is and see if it is awaiting an update..
Usually, the error yellow indicates a problem that would either prevent it from operating properly or that your network is unacceptably exposed to the outside internet.

Personally I have this problem before what I did to sort it out was to go back to the begining i.e. I first reformatted the hard drive using disk utility and then set up time machine to backup to the drive again.

You obviously replaced the defective drive already?
See this link for a total restoration from Time Machine.

Testimonial: "Thank you...as I mentioned I paid $400 with a monitor from CRAIG'S LIST and I was naive enough (stupid actually) not to ask the kid for the OS X install disc, when I saved the backup, I must have forgotten to SAVE USER SETTINGS, because know NONE of the GREAT PROGRAMS which were probably pirated seem to work now asking for serial numbers the "
