Intermittent power in 33600 coffee maker

Possibly a short in your power cord. Try plugging into a different outlet before replacing the cord. Also make sure the contacts where you plug the cord into the coffee pot are clean and not loose/broken.

Plugged in and not charging

1) Use a multimeter, check the AC adapter (Charger) for power.
Make sure it is putting out the required voltage.

Have an assistant gently wiggle the cable FROM AC adapter TO laptop. See if there is an intermittent reading on the multimeter.

Have an assistant gently wiggle the power cord.

An intermittent reading on the multimeter indicates a broken wire.
Power cord is bad? Replace cord.
Cable from AC adapter to laptop is bad? Replace AC adapter.

If you have posted the laptop manufacturer NAME and MODEL NUMBER, I could have given you more than generic information.

Model Number is in the Bottom of the laptop. Post back in a Comment.

AC adapter works OK?

Check the DC Power Jack.
The DC Power Jack is the jack on the laptop, that the AC adapter plugs into.

DC Power Jack checks OK, this is your problem,

Power intermittent: when cable is touched power returns

You have a broken power cord. Hoover is notorious for power cords. I'm speaking from personal experience. Replace/have the power cord replaced.

Gateway kav60 not charging. i have to wiggle the cord and sometimes it refuses to charge.

I guess you've got a broken laptop power dc jack or power cable.

Symptoms of a broken Laptop DC power jack:

- The laptop only operates when you hold the DC power plug in a certain direction (DC jack is broken or loose).
- The laptop only runs on battery power (no power is getting through the DC jack).
- The laptop gets no power at all.
- The laptop will not charge the battery.
- The laptop switches from AC power to battery power intermittently due to a loose or broken power jack.
- The laptop suddenly shuts off.
- The DC jack may feel loose.
- Sparks come out of the back of the laptop when you insert the power plug into the DC jack.

Power intermittent when lead moved near entry point

sounds like you have a broken wire in the cord in the strain relief area. what you can do is unplug and make a wiring diagram and then remove the cord and GENTLY pull the wires one at a time to check and if broken you can shorten the cord that length and continue using tool.

Wont start till I pull on the cord to make connection.checked cord with volt meter, its o.k.help. stampvs@yahoo.com

If you have unplugged the unit and performed a continuity (resistance) check from the end of the power cord to where it connects to the terminal block at the back of the appliance, then the next logical step is to perform a voltage check of the wall receptacle itself. If the voltage at the receptacle is good, but you are having connectivity issues with the appliance plugged in, the receptacle terminals may have become loose, or you may have a power cord that has a loose or broken wire. This intermittent connectivity can cause the receptacle and/or power cord to heat up and cause a fire. With the appliance unplugged, connect an ohmmeter to either end of the power cord and perform a continuity check. Move the power cord to see if the readings are constant. If you have intermittent resistance readings, you have a bad power cord. If the power cord still checks good, then I would recommend having an electrician check your wall receptacle before using the appliance again. If you still have questions, let me know. I hope this helps you.
