Have you or can you gain access to a wiring schematic/diagram of the machine and specifically the fuse your referring to and all of the components it powers? If you can I'm quite sure I can help you. Sometimes the dealer/employees will photo copy the pages you need and more so if you offer to pay them or tip them for what you need. Get back to us.

SOURCE: Craftsman garden tractor Mod # 917.257740 blows main fuse.

Try checking the battery - make sure it is not under rated - over rated and be sure the starter it's self isn't drawing too much amperage.
the battery may need replacing and for a temp fix - put in a larger fuse - say 50 amp.
Thanks for choosing FIX Ya

How do I repair or replace a defective gas gauge?

It is in the instrument cluster, which has to be removed to replace the gauge. It cannot be repaired. Did you first check the 10 amp METER fuse in the fuse panel?

Now let me say, that when the gauge quits, it is more often a fault in the sending unit in the gas tank, and not the gauge. Here is how to find out if your gauge is good: Find the fuel tank electrical connector, and pull it apart. You will need a small jumper wire. Find the blue wire in the body side of the connector (not the fuel tank side). Put the jumper wire into the blue wire terminal, turn the ignition key to on not start, and ground the jumper wire to a metal frame piece. Someone needs to watch the fuel gauge needle while the wire is grounded. If the gauge in the dash is good, the needle will move. It will probably go to either full or empty, but if the needle moves, the gauge is good and the fault is in the sending unit in the tank. Don't give up testing until you are sure the jumper wire is being grounded good to the frame. Just touch the wire to frame and watch the needle movement, once sure, stop so you don't blow the fuse. If the needle doesn't move, first check the 10 amp meter fuse. If fuse is good, it must be the gauge.

My son have a Kia Rio 2003 we try to remove the 80a fuse but we are having a hard time we are screwed everything we tried pulling it out and we still having a hard time removing it any help any ideas

it may come out in pieces, if you have to use a jumper to test the circuit instead of the fuse, or bypass the fuse for any reason, the jumper rule is to use a piece of wire that is two gauge sizes smaller than the suply wire, making it the weakest part of the circuit,
Note: if wire is 16 gauge you will use a jumper that is 20 gauge, since they don't use odd numbers, and the larger the number the smaller the wire

New fuel pump, ccrm and fuel filter and still blowing 20 amp fuel pump fuse

If the components are all good, then check wiring connectors and wiring circuits, it appears the problem is after the ccrm. wiring from ccrm to fuel pump. For testing you should be able to use jumper wire with inline 20 amp fuse, from voltage to fuel pump connector, to see if it will run w/o blowing the fuse. As you can see from ccrm to inertia switch there are two connectors. From inertia switch to fuel pump, one connector. There are many ways to test. With connectors unplugged, you could use a test lite connected to battery voltage, touch correct wire terminal, if lite comes on, that circuit is going to ground, somewhere.
See that one wire that goes down, wire circuit from ccrm to inertia switch, that wire goes to pcm, I believe it to a monitor circuit, the pcm monitors the voltage on that circuit.

What the codes

You want delay fuse instead of fast-acting fuse. Look for delay on product description.
Since the motor has a high amp draw when first starting, then that means surge of heat traveling over wire.
Fuse trips when sensing heat.
Delay fuse will accept high heat for longer period of time before tripping.

I recommend that you use 12 gauge wire and 20 amp fuse. Over-sizing wire will save heat loss and prevent damage to motor, and heat damage fuse box.

If you use smaller 14 gauge wire and 15 amp fuse, the motor will heat the wire, especially if length of wire is longer than 100 feet from fuse.
The motor has thermal protection, so motor is not overheating.
The wire is overheating.

I installed a planet audio TW402 amp in my car. i put this amp last summer. when i first put it in my car with an sony xplod sub. i had a very small 12 gauge power wire and ground wire. but still it worked...

It could have to do with how your speakers are wired. If you have 2- 4 ohm speakers and they
are both wired to one terminal (RIGHT OR LEFT) on the amp, you have a 2 ohm load and most amps are rated at 4 ohms.
Go to this site and use #58 on the right sidebar to see if you are wired correctly.
