How to change fonts in Windows Notepad

Windows Notepad is a fairly basic text editor. It doesn't offer a lot in the way of extra features, but one thing it does have is the ability to use different fonts.<br /><br />By default, Notepad uses the Lucida Console font. However, you can change both the font and the text size, as well as use bold and italic styles. The only drawback is that the whole document must use the same settings, so if you change the font, it will apply to all of the text; you can't have only one word appear in bold, for example.<br /><br />To change the font in Notepad, open an existing text file or create a new one by clicking on the Notepad link on the Start menu (Start &gt; All Programs &gt; Accessories &gt; Notepad). On the menu bar, click Format, and from the drop down menu, select Font.<br /><br />On the left side of the Font window is a list of all of the fonts you can choose from. To see what a font will look like, click on it. The text in the sample box will change to reflect that font, giving you an idea of what the capital and lowercase letters will look like.<br /><br />You can also change the text style by selecting Italic, Bold, or Bold Italic. (Unfortunately, you can't underline in Notepad.) The text size can be changed by selecting a number from the list under the Size heading, or you can type in a value in the field above the list. To change the script (in order to use the lettering or symbols of another language) select one of the scripts from the Script list at the bottom of the window.<br /><br />Once you've made your selections, click OK to apply them. If you just want to exit out of the Font window without making changes, click Cancel.

Font won't unbold

Is this for a TTF True Type Font or some other font format?

Assuming you're running Windows, it all depends on which operating system you're running. Typically PCs use True Type Fonts (TTF files), which are installed and stored in the Fonts folder, which is a sub-folder of the Windows folder.

Some True Type Fonts are only available in Bold, Italic, Normal and Bold Italic. Some are also available in more or less variations. Some fonts are only available in Bold, some only in Italic, etc.

You may need to check if you have the Normal font installed, and it may be the font selected is only installed in the bold version. Another possibility is your Normal font file might be damaged or corrupted to where it's no longer recognized by your system.

You can check out the Fonts folder to see if the typeface you're trying to use is installed properly in the Normal style.

If not, select another font and see if that works for you. This would be a good indication that it's simply a matter of the Normal font variation not being installed properly.

Hope this helps!

Does not underline even though function is chosen (we are not using bold font)

Did you press "enter" after you selected the function?

It is not enough to select it ... you must also "enter" it.

I hope this solves your trouble.

MS Office 2003 Problem with Bold

Hi there,

You could have done a number of things (by accident of course) so it’s hard to find - on line.

Therefore the best solution would be; to remove you Office installation and re install it.
Start -> Settings -> Control panel ->ad remove program, find and remove Microsoft office.

Restart the computer, and reinstall your office.

Increase font size on Nokia E65 Mobile Phone

NOKIA SAYS THAT THE FONTS ARE NOT CHANGAABLE THEY ARE WRONG!
There is quite a simple way to change system fonts in the Nokia E65 phone.
The following is how I did it in my E65.
First you have to select the memory as phone NOT the memory card.
Then connect the phone to PC through the standard USB cable. When the phone prompts you, select “Data Transfer” NOT PC Suite”. Once the phone is connected you can view it as a removable drive. First check if a directory named “Fonts” exists.
If it does not exist, just create it in the resources folder. If it already exists, just make a backup copy of it.
Now, go to your PC Fonts directory (usually c:\Windows\Fonts) and do the following:
You can use any TT font I used a font called Baveuse.TTF as the bold I used the Baveuse3D.TTF as my normal font. You have to have (3) three fonts and they have to be renamed to what is below or it won’t work.
Copy Any (True Type you want) font file to:\resources\Fonts\NSSB60.ttf
Copy Any Bold (True Type) font file to:\resources\Fonts\NOSNR60.ttf
Copy again the same normal Bold (TT) font file to:\resources\Fonts\NSTSB60.ttf
The (3) Three fonts have to be renamed as above or they wont work!!!
Then just disconnect the phone from USB turn it off. Then restart your phone and put the memory back to the card and you will have the new fonts in place. This is how I did my E65 and it worked ok for me. If the fonts are to big just start over delete the three fonts and use a different font to you find one you like I like the Baveuse.TTF font its personal choice.
