Tube heater on a sony trinitron not working

They will usually be marked on the crt board socket on foil side with H, and another way to find them is follow them back to the high voltage transformer where the go---you will read a short and that is normal across them--I would bet if you locate you will find at the high voltage transformer or between it and the crt board broken connections or a open resistor----less than 20 of the connections between flyback (the transformer) and crt board---FYI the voltage across the two should be 6.3 volts AC.

You can trace it that way also if you locate the source. Worst case is no voltage at the source which would mean the transformer is bad but that is rare.

This set is known for some common issues--one is a built in feature where it will try to come on three times and if fails goes into shutdown.

The most common issue is bad solder connections where the high voltage transformer is soldered into the board and right around it.

It has some convergence issues but set will still play.

On the board where the transformer is located it can fail and some other parts (output transistor shorts).

It is not repair friendly as all parts are specialized.

If going to look--look for the bad connections first.

Where is the flybac located in a rca hd52w59

Flyback transformer other wise called Line output transformer {LOT} is actually a step up transformer, which supplies extra high tension voltages to the guns. It can be locatee on the main printed circuit board. 2_7_2012_5_19_59_pm.jpgJust see the different views of the main board of your RCA TV. You can see the flyback transformer at the left top corner, look like a large black componen; with a ferrite "U" type core goes though it. It is the LOT. Line Output Transformer, otheriwse called as Flyback Transofrmer. OK.

No images only the sound

You have to check the back light of your lcd TV. All lcd screen have a back light to illuminate the pixels. you can conform is the back light is faulty or not by watching the lcd screen nearby. Watch can you see any image (negative image) on the screen. you have to look very closely. if you see any image on the screen then the back light or the back light inverter is faulty.

You have to check the back light inverter board. Normally in lcd monitors you can see three circuit boards. power supply, mother board, and the inverter board. If available then try to replace the inverter board. There are high voltage transformers in this board. There is a chance for its winding get short. You will not get the transformer in open market. Try for the inverter board .

Rudd furnace>>>> power surge.

Some circuit boards have a built in transformer and others have the transformer that sits right beside the board depending on the age of the furnace. First, look for a small 3 or 5 amp fuse on the circuit board. Check it, and if its good, and you have a small ohm/volt meter. Check your transformer. You can either ohm it out or just check for voltage. You have a "high" voltage side and a "low voltage" side of the transformer. The "high" voltage side will go to the power (120 volt) that comes into the furnace. This would probably be the side that would burn out during an elec. storm. To ohm the transformer: (This will be your best way to check)

1) shut off power to the furnace
2) pull the two wires loose that go to the "high voltage side"
3) put the leads from your ohm meter to each wire that goes to the transformer, and you should get some kind of reading. If not the "high voltage" side of the transformer is burnt out

You can follow those three steps to the "low voltage side as well, just remember where you take any wires off.

Be sure you have the power turned OFF. Good luck, hope this helps you.

NEC Multisync LCD1770V Model# L174F- Monitor powers on for a few seconds then goes black. You can still see a faint image in the background and the power light is still green. I checked for leaky caps on...

Check the iCs on the lcd control board which shut down the ccfl lamps? If hot put a paper sticker slightly smaller on the IC. This prevents condensation from osmosis into the IC.

I need to find a replacement board fot the High Voltage section in a DELL 1900FP UltraSharp display. Transformer TM-511R (1 of 2) cooked.

Ritchard, You may want to try this site: will get you to pages with list of other manufacturerers other than just NEC. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @aol. com. Note: Take pictures of how everything go's back together before you take it apart. The board with the Transformers on it and connects to the 4 plugs from the sides of the LCD/FPD is called an INVERTER board. It takes 12v-15v and turns it iinto something like 1200v-1800v and of an AC nature running at a frequency> 30khz. BYE.

NEC PX-42VP4DA- Won't stay on

Yeah, it's the power supply.  I've ordered (2) of these power supplies used, and the same problem seems to be happening with both.  The transformers on the power supply board (namely, the 170+ volt one) are the problem. You have several test points on the power supply board which you can touch with a voltmeter to see if your television is getting the correct voltage .  Mine made a a high pitch squeal which indicated which transformer was bad. If you find a place to get the transformers new - id like to know, because mine is still non functional because of this and the fact that a new PS board is over $600.

Tv shuts off by itself then flashes a code 8 blinks

Eight blinks means, "High voltage error". The probable cause location listed is "T8005 is faulty (D board). T8005 is the fly-back transformer (FBT). or you can replace the full d-board
You may purchase the D board complete for $185.10

or send in for repair here

if one of the crt is shorted it can also cause this problem.
