Question about Heating & Cooling
Heater will stop with error code xxx000x We have had this amazing heater for approximately 8 years. 3 years ago occasionally the heater stops functioning overnight with flashing lights xxxoo and red on light. (low 60 64 and on are flashing) I cycle the power (with the flashing red button) and the heater starts up, and functions flawlessly for days if not weeks. It appears that they issue has been happening more frequently but I have not tracked timing. The only correlation I can find is it appears that it errors out on windy days making me think it may be a faulty pressure switch. I installed this heater online and installed it myself and think there may be issues with the warranty as a result of that. Thanks Greg
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: error code 11 on my rinnai
A code 11 also means that it might not be getting any gas. On thr right side of the unit you will find a small door. open it up and make sure the valve is in the open position. If it is, you should contact your gas company to come and diagnose what is going on. The Rinnai is not a do it yourself fix it type of heater.

An error code of 12 on your heater means a flame failure has occured. It could be the following: Flame Rod dirty, Obstruction in burner, improper gas pressure, or a bad ignitor board. I am suggesting you get a technician who is familiar with Rinnai products to check out the above items.

I got this error when I had increased my air pressure to 5.5 lbs. Cut the pressure back to 4.5 and it has been running fine for the last three hours. At 5.5 it got WARM ... solid red hot cone and flames coming around the outside. Had been having problems with it cutting off for no apparent reason in really cold weather. Took the pump apart and cleaned it and checked for clearances and reassembled but it did not help much. Will schedule it for a total pump replacement with new filters asap. Pump parts and filter are not that bad. Should come in under $50.00
Hope this helps
I also turned the thermostat back a little off of full on.

I had the same problem and mine was cause by a blown fuse. It's not too hard to fix. Remove the cover by pulling down and squeezing the wire arms on each side. You need a VERY long screwdriver to remove the entire motor/fan/light assembly from the housing (8 screws total). Place the assembly on the floor and look for the fuse on top. The fuse is on the motor, not near the heater portion. It is a ceramic, not glass, cylindrical fuse, 20 amps, 125 volts. This fuse is sold as a microwave oven fuse & costs about 2 bucks at a hardware store. Replace, reinstall, and you're done.

SOURCE: Rinnai 1004 F Error Code 11
Code 11 is that the unit is trying to light but does not sense a flame after 5 seconds. Usually means you have run out of gas if you are bottled gas. Check your bottles are turned on if you are on LPG, you might need to change over manually. Have you anything else on gas?
