Reddy heater keeps shutting down. Old heater over 25 years old. Do not know the product name or number

Read these troubleshootingtips. The older heaters are the best, most reliable, and easiest totroubleshoot.

You state: "Do not knowthe product name or number"
Search the unit thoroughly. All parts do not fit allheaters. You must identify your heater in order to get the correct parts.

I lost my manual for the Champion by Gilson 40. Do you know where I can download one?

Try PHPdistribution.com They are a 25 year old company for heater parts. I have dealt with them before. If you cannot download a manual, they should have a (800) number to call on there website. They will probably e-mail you what you need. Good luck.

Read the instructions on how to light the pilot but where I need to put the match I am not sure where to direct the flame to. I see the housing for the pilot but not where inside

You noted above it is a Coleman forced air Heater with a electronic ignition? You don't need a match to light the pilot, it lights automatic on a call for heat at the thermostat. If it does not light, then you have other problems. Let me know.
Good Luck,

Sears forced air kero heater wont start, spitting fuel out front

sounds like the ignitor is bad, mine would try to light and do the same thing. I noticed one night that it was arcing out the entire length of the wires to the plug. If you have a good spark then i would suggest a CAD flame sensor, very cheap.
