Can I run a ViewSonic VA2342 screen safely with a Belkin Battery Backup Rev B?

Hello I was wondering if it is safe to run my ViewSonic VA2342 LED screen from an old Belkin Battery Backup Rev B (those left behind att uverse gray ones.) As far as I know the Belkin is 12V DC, Btw I am using this because I bought the screen for $20 because it didn't have the power cable. So I tried it today and it ran perfectly fine just want to make sure it won't mess it up. I will of course run it with the backup battery plugged in not only off battery mode on the backup battery. In case you aren't familiar this backup battery is also usable plugged in so it does not always run off the battery.

I plugged the screen to it and ran it close to an hour no issues, does that mean it was connected the right way around??

  • zippedup Nov 19, 2013

That would be right. If wrong way round would not go.

  • zippedup Nov 19, 2013

Also rating of power supply must be ok. if not enough it would heat up to much or not go.

Should be ok if power supply same voltage as original.
Make sure you connect correct way around.

Well, thats where I get confused...

  • zippedup Nov 19, 2013

Just check volts output on both suplies and current output. If Belkin has more current output that is ok.

yeah....easier said than done for me, all i know is 12V DC for Belkin and 2.1A 19V on the original power adapter for the monitor...

  • zippedup Nov 19, 2013

The lower voltage out might make the regulator in monitor work harder. If the monitor states a input voltage best to stay in that range. Is the picture full width on monitor and no flickering? If so that 12 volt Belkin supply should be reasonably ok. Put a meter on that supply and check volatge output.

SOURCE: I was adjusting picture on monitor and now picture completely messed up

  • Signal out of Range.
  • Out Of Scan Range
  • Horizontal frequency is out of range.
  • Cannot Display This Video Mode Out of Sync

This issue may occur if the signal from the video adapter exceeds the scan range of the monitor. The video adapter setting for updating the screen (the refresh rate) is incompatible with the monitor.
you should reinstall your video drivers in safe mode.

To restart in safe mode repeatedly press the F8 key during the computer startup. This will bring a menu where you'll be able to choose safe mode.

restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice

select safe mode with command prompt

Click start run type cmd press Enter

For eg. If you want to change administrator password , type net user Administrator

it will prompt you to enter the new password

enter the new password and the password is changed

if this fails you will need to

you could download all of these or just one save them to a usb drive for later use if one fails to remove the password

Engine Failsafe Mode came on after cleaning battery cables. Vehicle will start, but won't run. No throttle

Fail safe is TPS sensor. When you go in fail safe the vehicle give a set amount of RPM and no throttle response the rule of thumb in fail safe is APP1 and APP2 does not agree the goal is to protect the catalytic convertor. So if the transmission was at fault you dont over rev to end up burning the Cat. Or over rev to break the engine It all boils down to a throttle body assembly as the solution

After latest windows updates, which encluded a driver from viewsonic for 2025wm, my machine crashs at the log on screen and reboots. After un-installing ATI Catalyst I am able to run in generic VGA but not...

Suggestion: Start your system in Safe Mode, and do a System Restore, which will roll everything back before the updates.

On another system, go to your manufacturer's site and find the key sequence for Safe Mode -- usually repeatedly pressing one of the Function keys during boot.

When you get it up in Safe mode, click the Start button (or your windows key) and type System Restore in the search box. Pick a restore date before the problem occurred.

Restore rolls back your programs, updates and installs to a prior date. It doesn't change your files (word, excel, ppt, PDF, etc.).

I turned my Toshiba L305-S5891 and the screen went black with an error message that windows couldn't open. It won't even get to the log in screen. I am a college student and I must get my computer to work....

Action: start the computer and ress the f8 key again and again and select the option "safe mode with networking" if you get.

restore the computer on the previos day , other wise you will have to repair the operating system.

Hello I wonder if you can help. When we switch

Had a similar problem like this several times. Try choosing safe mode. Safe mode will load the required drivers. After safe mode finishes the loading process, restart your computer and choose to start windows normally. The problem you mention usually happens when the computer is turned off without using normal shut down procedures. Also happens when you have a sudden power outage.

Problm with viewsonic va712b

sounds like the operating mode is at a frequency or refresh rate that is outside the viewsonic operating specifications when in normal mode. possible solution: in safe mode access control panel, system, devices (hardware) and look for display. do a right click and uninstall. repeat right click and "scan for hardware changes". That might reset the monitor operating modes but it also gives you a chance to reinstall drivers. If this does not work, try other monitor crt/lcd to see what happens.

Battery is dead - no green light.

Find out from Safe suppliers etc. where you can provide power to it and what kind of supply you need, and whether this changes the safe-opening procedure once it's powered up. Set it up and do it, open the safe...and probably change the battery.
Then try to remember who needed what backup service....
