SOURCE: Powerpoint 2007 problems

Hi, If the files were created in a lower version then when you open them in the newer version you are usually asked if you wish to convert them if this does not happen and you wish to retain the file in its earlier version then make sure when you go to save it that you use the "Save As" option instead of "Save" because you must choose the lower version format from the "Save As Type" box underneath the "Filename" box.
Let me know how you go.

Hi Guys, How can I download a 'free' version of Microsoft powerpoint 2007 for XP pro, onto my laptop, which is running windows 8/8.1...? all answers very appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

I 100% agree with you. I am still using Office 2007 because I do not see much interest in 2010 or 2013. I am waiting to see what comes next but I am not convinced I will upgrade any time soon.

As for Free PowerPoint 2007, that is a TOUGH one as MS wants to sell EVERYTHING, including technical support.

I know you can get PP 2007 viewer for free, but as for the actual program, it still requires an activation code.

I found a site that "claims" free PowerPoint 2007 but I am not convinced it's the full download and free. If it's like a lot of MS download links, it will automatically try to download the newest version 2013 which is evaluation unless you pay for the product key...but you can try it out and see what happens if you want to take the chance.

What is the function of layout in microsoft powerpoint?

The layout is the way you want the presentation/doc to appear. Is just like the frame for the paintings, but includes the settings like type of texts /fonts/images and so on ..you can use in your work.
Check this if you want to know how to work with layouts in Powerpoint:

What is compatible mode How it will be converted to Full version

Compatibility mode helps users collaborate with those using previous versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A file created in previous versions of Office, such as .doc, .xls, and .ppt, are fully functional in compatibility mode in the 2007 Office system. Compatibility mode ensures that the 2007 Office system can open and save files in from previous versions of Office without converting them to the new file formats in the 2007 Office system.
Just select "save-as" and save the file in 2007 format.....And when you will open the newly saved file...It won't show "Compatibility mode".

Have a nice day :)

How can I read docx files

docx files are Microsoft Word files that have been created using Microsoft Worrd 2007 in the XML format.

If you are using a previous version of Microsoft Word, you will need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats.

After you download the program just run the executable.

You will now be able to open docx files in your version of Word.

Transparent Images slow down in Powerpoint 2007

ikkenom's solution is wrong. I'm experiencing the same on bleading edge machines. It seems to be an issue overall with high res images and I think it has a lot to do with the program trying to draw a preview image to move around before it actually lets you move. Previous versions of PPT did not do this preview draw and I think that's why we could move our images right away. If anyone knows a registry value or anything else, it would be greatly appreciated.

Has the powerpoint document been saved as an office 2007 document or as a prior version? in office 2007 in order to open it in 2003 it must be saved as a prior version of office. You can download a patch to read newer versions, but that is not always the most reliable process.
