Right click on the blank screen, click properties, then settings and increase the resolution and color. If that doesn't work you might be using an lcd screen with the wrong settings. I don't know what that might be but you might call up support, for your brand, and tell them your problems. (you could also google manufacturer name then goto their site and email their support)

That's not what maximize does. It merely enlarges the current window to full screen size.

Tip

Close All Windows Programs instantly

A cool tip to minimize and maximize all your active windows programs. You can do all using your mouse, but if you want to do this with keyboard then simply press Windows key+M to minimize all active programs and later maximize it using Windows key+Shift+M.
If you want to minimize the all active windows programs one by one then use the shortcut by pressing Alt+Space+N keys and sequentially maximize the active windows programs using shortcut Alt+Space+X keys.

How do I adjust my monitor? My home page does not

I'm not sure what operating system you're using nor what you mean by your "home page". If you mean your browser window doesn't fill the whole Windows desktop, what happens when you maximize the window?

If your desktop looks huge with tiny icons (and tiny-looking windows, if you have any open and not maximized) all clustered in the middle of the screen, your display resolution may be set higher than you're accustomed to. In most versions of Windows you can go to Control Panel | Display, see what your current resolution is, and try adjusting it. The higher the numbers, the "bigger" the desktop area (and the smaller the icons and everything else). If you adjust the resolution higher than your monitor can handle, you may lose your display and have to restart the computer in something like Safe mode to get to Control Panel and readjust it. If you adjust the resolution lower (or run in Safe Mode) your icons may not fit on the smaller desktop and may get scrambled. In that case, first straighten out the display resolution, then move your icons back where you want them.

Monitor gets a square marked loicked in the middle of the screen. modem blinks on/off. help!

To change your screen saver, right click on the clear area of your desktop and and click on properties. Then, at the top info bar, click on the screen saver button and select a screen saver from the list that you want.
For the blinking light on your modem, it is supposed to blink, and if you want to, you could move it a certain way where you won't see it blinking.

Page in the middle of screen, click Full-Screen Icon ( Top right of page ) Square Box.
