Is there a brand.... on your current spark plug?

Most generators will do just fine with an NGK BPR5ES spark plug in most any environment.

What type of oil do i use on the mcculloch fg 5700 ak

You may be using the generator in all temperatures so I recommend you use a SAE 5w30 100% synthetic oil in this air cooled engine. This will provide easy starting in extreme cold temperatures and great protection in all temperatures. Change the oil every 100 hours of use of every 2 years if you do not use the unit.

simple way to reflash the armature is plug a power drill into the genset, start genset, quickly turn the power drill by hand being careful to let go of it when it does turn on. this is a typical method for reflashing. good luck
