Question about Panasonic TH-50PX60U 50 in. Plasma HDTV

60inch panasonic plasma - display settings

I think something happened to my settings. When I hit format - whether 480 crop, 480 pillor box or 480 stretch, I can't seem to get a full screen picture. This is the case with all channels that I watch, including HD channels. Is there a way to reset/test my full screen settings?

How to change format from 48i to 1080p

Normally that option is provided through the device you use not the TV itself. For example my xbox has options to display at 480/720/1080 and you have to decide.

Panasonic tc-p60gt30 won't turn on. Something hit screen. Screen did not crack but now won't turn on

May have damaged the PDP (plasma display panel) inside---if the panel which is fragile shorted inside it will trigger shutdown.

Have a new 50" Samsung Plasma and new cable box/dvr. Set up the TV for 1080i, but it will change that setting from channel to channel. Some channels are way off-center, almost as though it thinks it is...

I'm sure you enjoy your Samsung. It's a very good set. Unfortunately the set isn't causing the change in format from one broadcast to another. We are in a transitional stage right now where some programs were made in 16/9 and others in 4/3. Also, some are analog(480) some are digital(720) and some are hd(1080). In order for every program to fit your screen it has to go through the original format matching the broadcasters and the service providers output before even getting to your house. Just a few years ago there were many more formatting screen size issues but now it's getting closer to 75-85 percent of all programming having been either resized or reformatted for the 16/9 sets. Soon it will all fit properly. Hope this helps, Russmann.

Panasonic 50" plasma. A rectangular box from upper left, slightly different color than rest of screen. Then after 45 minutes or so the entire image turns into an Andy Warhol affect -- colors are reversed,...

This sounds like a bad logic board. On this model, Panasonic calls it the "D" board aka Format Converter, Plasma AI Processor. It takes the video info from the main board and processes it for the display panel. Repair is board replacement.

I have a 52'' panasonic plasma and when I have my format set on full screen I have a 4 inch black frame around the picture. Can this be an ajustment problem?

Most likely that format is controlled by the cable box. Pick up the cable box remote and see if there is a format button.

Philips 42PF7320A cropping issue

When using a hd connection on a philips tv and (I am assuming this is the case) the tv disables the format features on the tv and only lets you select widescreen and automatic, if you are using hd adjust the picture size from the cable/satellite box, look for it in the box's menu system or on the remote, it is usually labeled, aspect ratio, zoom, format or something to that nature, hope I helped you

Phillips hdtv

if the cable box is sending in 1080 signal the tv will not be able to format to a 480 (you can switch to either/or)
the problem you have is if your not sending 1080 to the tv your not really watching HD but you cant strech the 4:3 (non HD channels) to the 16:9
the only thing you can do is run analog signal and a digital signal then switch between the two sorces for your HD and non HD programs

Push the "Ratio" button on your remote and see if that helps. I am assuming you are connected to either a cable or satellite box. If pushing ratio doesn't work, it may be a setting in the box. Post what kind of box your using and I will see if I can help.
