You need the power cord that should already be attached, plus a single RCA patch cord to connect to your source. You could use just one of a typical RCA pair, if that's all you have.

What kind of cord d i need to hook up the subwoofer to a regular receciver??

That would depend on each of them. Many active (self-powered) subs accept either Line Level or Speaker Level inputs. The manual for YOUR unnamed sub would describe the exact method.

One way or the other speaker wire (lamp cord) or RCA cable would be required.

I don't know how to install my logictech Z523 speakers; they are hooked up but no sound and not installed; computer doesn't recognize them and my fiance threw out the instructions so I don't know how or...

Your "line in" from speakers should be plugged into the green (output) port on the back of your tower or the headphone jack on laptop. You will need to hook the 9 pin connector from the right speaker to the subwoofer. The yellow line from left speaker plugs into port labled "subwoofer" on subwoofer. Plug your power cord from speaker system into an outlet. Turn them on, adjust volume. There is no software for this product.

Connect powered subwoofer

  • If your receiver has a dedicated subwoofer line level output, we recommend connecting your subwoofer to this jack. Most receivers will have just one (mono) subwoofer output, while quite a few subs require two inputs. You can use an RCA "Y" adapter cord , which is a cable with one female RCA jack at one end, and two male RCA plugs at the other. Some receivers require menu settings (such as "sub-on" or "front speakers-small") that must be made before the sub output will be active.
