You can order the part from

You need to replace the entire control board. The display is built into it, but it is easy to replace.

You just need a screw driver to install the display control panel.
To install the part, do the following:
Turn off the unit and unplug it.
You need to remove the screws on the back of the unit and remove the back. It slides up. Then slide the sides toward the back. You need to remove the side without the water canister. The side with the water canister just needs to be slid back enough to reveal the screws at the top front of the unit holding the display. Remove those screws on both sides and gently pull the top front display cover off. There is a long ribbon (similar to one found on a hard drive in acomputerDISPLAY NOT WORKING, BUT OTHERWISE EVERYTHING ELSE - icon1.png, which is exactly what this is) with a clip that attaches to the main control panel on the left side of the unit. Remove that (noting how and where it attaches - I mark everything), take apart the inside of the front panel to reveal the display board, remove and replace it along with the water tight seal. Plug the new display into the control board, reattach the top front panel to the body of the machine, reinstall the water container, plug it in and turn it on to see if it works. Mine did and so I reinstalled the sides - they just slide forward, then I reattached the back and the machine was good to go.
Hope these instructions help.

After a lightning strike my smart tv lost its picture everything else works fine trying to isolate which card is the problem.

For the TV repair, if you're lucky it's just a 20 cent fuse or two on the power supply board. If you're not so lucky it could be parts of the power supply board, which can be a simple replace job. But if it's beyond that if some of the display electronics got fried (Being a name brand like LG, it shouldn't) it could be listed as BER (Beyond Economical Repair)

If the TV also had a coax going in, that can cause damage to the electronics and bypass the surge protection entirely, which is why some surge protectors have coax jacks on them, as well as phone/modem jacks.

Freezer lights not working tried bulbs in fridge area and they work so its not the bulbs

Then it's the freezer door switch that controls the light. Although, modern fridges have electronic control boards designed to make your life miserable. Instead of a simple switch with a wire to a light bulb, you may have an entire computer board controlling it. The boards are _always_ expensive as heck. You can try for replacement parts for your specific model.

(It was the words "Professional Series" that gave me "pause" regarding the electronic wallet cleansing you may have to deal with. I'm sorry, but I'm an old appliance tech that has lived long enough to see these appliances become unnecessarily too expensive to repair a problem that would otherwise have been an incredibly simple and cheap to repair... and frequently not even need a new part. Technology does no favors for owners regarding appliances. It is a cheap way out for the manufacturers because electronic circuit boards made in China are cheaper than the electro-mechnaical devices they replaced, yet cost many hundreds of dollars to buy a replacement circuit board; which is quite literally a scam designed to make you buy a new appliance).

How do i repair my rca flatscreen has 75% picture only

with your symptoms id suspect a T Control board or a display panel problem . the T Control is the less of the evils that could be causing your problem .you could take a look at the ribbon cables from the T Control to the panel and see if not seated correctly . but id bet there fine .if you have the experience and tools you could lay it down and remove the back and check there first . there is not a simple fix its done by some trial and elimination by subbing a T Control board and usually it reverts back to a Display Panel Issue making it cost prohibitive to repair .

I have an Akai AA-A45 receiver. The display panel lighting is not working otherwise the unit works fine. Any ideas?

in that receiver ther is a fuse that controls the display, I have the same unit, there are 4 fuses by the power supply, it would be one of those, I cant remeber which one but if the fuse is blown it will turn of the entire display. Check that out and if thats not the problem, then there is a short in the unit.

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

No power

  • Check the circuit breaker and make sure you have 120v at the outlet, Hoss.
  • Fuse blown in the control panel. Sounds easy and it is if you know how to take the thing apart without getting your gluteus flabbeous shocked off by the capacitor in there that holds 2,000 volts (yes, even with it unplugged). Have fun, Homer.
  • Control board fried. Test for power going to board. If exists, problem lies on board somewhere. On the GE/Hotpoints using the "smartboard," it is sometimes possible to locate a bad soldering connection on the board that can be repaired, restoring function to the board. Otherwise the entire board must be replaced.

I wiggled the ribbon cable between the control board and the intermediate circut board. The LCD came back for an instant. I am sure it is this ribbon cable. It looks like it is held on with adhesive. How can it be impossible to repair if people are offering to do it less than 40.00 dollars to fix it? Someone must be selling a replacement ribbon cable that will work.
