Question about Uniden 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering System
Stopped answering function after four ring reset. Set is four years old. All other functions can be reset. Shall I replace or repair? Jim
What model Uniden 5.8GHz phone/answering machine? Exactly what does it do after four rings? Does it just drop the call or continue to ring? Is the answering machine turned on?

This is for a 5.8 GHz uniden. Hit "menu/clock" then use volume up and down key to select number of rings and then below "menu/clock" hit "set". That should it.

Got it, and you can set it for 2, 4, or 6 rings on incoming calls.
1. Press MENU/CLOCK on the base to enter setup.
2. Press MENU/CLOCK repeatedly to select RING TIME.
3. Press VOL:/SELECT to set the number or rings at 2, 4, or 6.
4. Press SET to save the setting.

Probably a cordless right? If it is,there should be a function button on the handset.Without pressing to dial out, press or hold down the function button. If there is a directional type button, you may have to press down or keep pressing the function button to cycle through the options.Once you find the ring set,it will probably require the directional button up or down to change the number of rings.Function could also be on the base, but it's usually on the handset. You may have to play around with a couple other buttons if there is no directional button but most seem to have the directional button these days. Good luck!
