Question about Heating & Cooling
I have a 5259 touch screen thermostat, I want to know how to programme it as I don't understand the different periods I expected to programme it like a heating system

heat pumps normally have what is called a jumper wire between you R and RC, RC run cooling. You may not have the jumper installed correctly. Instead of RC you may be using RH run heat

Open the flap, and press and hold the advanced button for 10 sec. you will be in the Installer setup screen. scroll down to the setup subfolder and select thermostat and it will be in there.

You may and an anolog stat and the old one was digital if so it won't work. Digital sends info to system anolog is just a set of points open or closed. Digital can carry tons of info to system like a computer. Like comparing a computer to a rock. Sorry but you need to go back to proper type stat.

you'll be needing an assistance from an A/C technician, If this a progammable you want, some configuration need to be done and a technician can only do that.
