Question about HP OfficeJet d145 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Officejet d145 will not power up

My HP Officejet d145 will not power up when I plug it in and press the on button. When I plug it in, a few of the LED indicator lights blink quickly and do not stay lit. It used to work fine. I don't know what the problem is and what could have caused it.

How do I turn on my new HP 6550B?

I'm assuming you have already tried the power button with the power cord plugged in. Have you recently took your laptop apart for any reason. Sometimes when people put their laptops back together the power button doesn't get lined up correctly.

If you haven't taken the laptop apart, then try a few things:

- Remove the battery plug only the power cord in and try
- Remove the battery and power cord wait a few minutes, then plug back in the power cord and try
- If you have a spare battery, plug the spare in and try

Please rate if this helps

Hi,

The middle blue led is the charging indicator, sounds like you have (at least) a bad battery, remove it, plug in AC and try again, if no good, remove the HD and repeat, if no good, remove/replace the ram and repeat, if still no good, your mainboard is cooked.

Thanks,

Adam.

Issue The HP product repeatedly turns off. hpweb_1-2_plus.gifhpweb_1-2_minus.gif Cause When low-power problems exist, the product might turn off repeatedly. Low power is a common problem in many home offices because of the number of electronic devices concentrated in one area. Solution one: Press and quickly release the Power button Follow these steps to turn on the product correctly.
  1. Remove any memory cards or USB drives from the HP product.
  2. Press, and then quickly release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold down the button . Figure 1: Press and quickly release the Power buttonc01941590.gif
c01733891.gif If you press and hold the Power button too long, the product might turn on and then turn off without restarting. The product might also appear to be turned off in Powersave mode. In either case, press, and then quickly release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product. Solution two: Check the electrical connections and outlet Follow these steps to make sure that all the power systems work correctly.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, or the power strip or surge suppressor. Power module Power cord c00745315.gif c00057913.jpg NOTE: The power cord detaches from the power module. The term power supply refers to both the power module and the power cord.
  2. Carefully inspect the power supply for visible damage. c01733891.gif If the power cord or power module shows any damage, contact HP to replace the power supply.
  3. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the product.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds, and then plug the disconnected power supply into an electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge suppressor. c01733891.gif If the green light (LED) on the power supply does not light up, contact HP to replace the power supply.
  5. Reconnect the power supply to the product.
  6. Press and quickly release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
  7. If the product still does not turn on, connect the product to an electrical outlet in another room, and then quickly press and release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
    • If the product turns on , the electrical outlet in the original room caused the issue.
    • If the product still does not turn on , continue with the next solution.
Solution three: Make sure that other devices are not causing the issue Follow these steps to make sure that devices plugged into the HP product are not causing the problem
  1. If the parallel and universal serial bus (USB) ports of the HP product have other devices plugged into them, unplug those devices.
  2. Press the Power button (c00636182.gif ) to turn on the HP product.
  3. Monitor the HP product to see if it turns off again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting.

Does it happen when you try to print from an application - like Microsoft Word or even Notepad? How about printing a test page from the properties page of the printer?
Sounds like either the printheads are clogged or there is no ink at all. Try running a few cleaning cycles. If you're sure you have ink, then try cleaning or replacing the printheads.

PROBLEM COPYING WITH MY ALL- IN- ONE

This message is inbuilt into most Canon printers, there is spongy thing in the printer which when fills up fires the message (it's mostly a counter in the printer, which can be reset more later...), per Canon this can only be dealt with in a lab but some of the more adventurous have tried cleaning it by themselves. Note that in a lab they won't clean it, it's a part that needs replacing and it might cost around $60. In most Canon printers there is a reset procedure that can reset the error and allow you to print some more before handling it again. Following are the reset procedures for some of the Printers: (not that F60 isn't listed here) Canon GENERIC "S" SERIES RESET CODE Waste Ink Counter Reset. (1) Turn off the printer. (2) Press and hold the RESUME button, then press and hold the POWER button. (3) Release the RESUME button, Next press and release the RESUME button two(2) more times in succession. Note: you are still holding the POWER button). The printer's carriage will "reset" or move momentarily. If the above was properly performed the printer will enter the "Service Mode". (4) Press the RESUME button 4 times, this will select the clear waste ink counter function. The lamp will alternate (change) color with each key press. 1. Service/Factory test printout, including ink sensor check. 2. EEPROM - Info printout. 3. EEPROM - Initialization. 4. Reset the Waste ink counter. 5. Printer model setting. (More selections beyond this point - However it is best leave them unaltered - You have been warned!) After selecting the desired mode (eg 4), press the POWER button to "set" the change, and return to the top of the function selection menu.
