Question about NetGear ProSafe GSM7248 48-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch

If the password has been set to something other than the default, you can reset it using the RS232 serial console port. Connect to that using Hyperterm, PuTTY, Xterm etc. at 9600-8-N-1, and power up the switch. Early in the boot process, it will give you a choice of normal operation, or the boot menu. Select the boot menu before the time runs out (usually a couple seconds), and one of the options will be to reset the switch configuration, including the password.
As far as I know, there is no way to recover the password and leave the configuration intact.

The default password is blank (i.e., leave the password field blank).
