My Teac MD-H300 minidisc player will not read discs, comes up no disc

Doe the deck play LP discs or only SP discs?
My impression is that it does not support MDLP - which I suspect is your problem.
Does it play discs recorded on that machine?
Let me know if that solves it. If not, I have other thoughts.

Teac md-h300

There is no unit with the name you gave.

Does the unit itself say MDLP on it? If it doesn't, theres a good chance it doesn't support the LP modes and will only playback/recor unit only plays in SP or MONO.

Suddenly the record button won't just won't depress or light has always work so well. Can you tell me what the problem is?

check your disc - do you have the little tab slide over to prevent recording? (like a cassette has on the top)? Also, very important with MiniDiscs, or home CD recorders, when you press STOP, you still need power for another 30 seconds or so for the unit to write the TOC - table of contents. Without the TOC, your disc cannot find where anything is. So , make sure you have a FRESH battery and/or AC adapter when recording. Try a new blank disk with fresh batteries, okay?

Sorry, but it's around twelve years old and spares are no longer available. The only fix is to trplace it with another used MD deck.

You can see the specs of yours and compare it to others at, later models are far better as they have MDLP capability and some even have NetMD functions for digital file transfers onto MD's.

Din Unlock - Unable to record

You must have the unit switched to "DIGITAL" input - switch it to "ANALOG" and record that way. The "DIN UNLOCK" is when you have the lack of a proper digital signal, or a digital signal with copy protection, like you cannot make a digital copy of a digital Minidisc, etc...Does that make sense? Let me know if the "Analog" setting works for you. Good luck.
