Question about Unisonic Vintage XL-121 Printing Calculator

1 Answer

So I have squired a ultrasonic XL-121 automated calculator, but in order for it to work, I need to be able to buy paper and ink. Where do I buy these?

I have a ink ribbon, but it's dried out. Do I need to purchase a entire other ink ribbon, or do I have to just buy liquid ink?

I have Casio PCR-T280 and the printer is out of ink, but I dont know the model or part number to order new. Could somebody help me with this please?

This machine does not have ink. It uses thermal paper. The paper roll is heat sensitive and the machine heats the paper to make numbers. You have to buy thermal paper roll.

Calculator will not print

I don't think you'll find parts for this, however I did find a used one, buy it now, for less than $20, shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/Texas-Instruments-Electronic-Printng-Calculator-TI-5045_W0QQitemZ160148715050QQcmdZViewItem Buying a used unit and either replacing yours or using it for parts is probably your best bet.

I need to order printing tape or paper for the P1-DH V. What is the item number for that? Thanks.

There is no specific item number for the printing paper for this model. You can buy any brand of paper rolls, but it must be 2 and 1/4" or 57mm wide. Just go to OfficeMax or Staples and just look for the paper rolls that are 2 and 1/4" wide. If you need a lot of them I would go to Costco, great deal on paper rolls

If you need a new to replace the ink roller the item number is CP-16

This should help you out

Printer prints blank paper. I have cleaned and changed all ink. It was suggested to remove the print head and wash it. Where is the head? Please help. Need this for my home office. Thanks

It appears that the print head nozzles are blocked, it is difficult to clean, it may be cleaned with a ultrasonic cleaner. Most likely you will need to buy a new print head, these are not cheap and you may find it better to buy a new ink jet prnter.
Inkjet printer heads tend to block up if used infrequently, inkjet printers should be run/used every several days to prevent nozzels blocking. If this is your case and you only want to print black & white, I suggest you get a laser printer. It is cheaper to run and don't suffer from infrequent use.

Paper/tape jam

Get a pair of scissor and cut through the tape. IF it is rapped up too tight where you can't get a pair of scissor through it, then get an exacto knife or razor blade to cut the paper. Just remember not to press too hard so you don't cut through the rubber roller beneath it.
After cutting the paper, then press the paper advance and start taking the pieces of paper out.
Good luck.
If you still have problems, feel free to repost again.
Have a good day.
