Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC28. It's worth following the steps shown in our video guide above - the on/off switch should flash to indicate if there's a problem, but the video guide will help you check the cleaner head and brush bar for any obstructions. Make sure the brush bar is clear of any threads or hair.

If you find you do need some additional advice after you've given this a try, please email askdysonUS@dyson.com with your full contact details and the serial number of your machine. If a repair is needed, our experts will be able to confirm if this is covered under the machine's 5-year warranty.

Best wishes,

Jack

SOURCE: how do i adjust the brush height on my dyson dc15

The brushbar pivots, you can't manually set the height of it. It moves along with the contour of the carpet or floor that you are vacuuming.

SOURCE: how do i change the belt on my dyson dc28

      Hi there,

DC28 has a belt which should not require replacement. If you're concerned that the brushbar doesn't seem to be rotating when the cleaner is reclined into the vacuuming position, you'll find it helpful to run through our online troubleshooting guide to check everything is correct with your cleaner:

      http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1241&product=DC28-ANIMAL

By checking for and removing any obstructions from the cleaner head, and removing threads or hair wrapped around the brushbar, you should be able to resolve your issue without any further assistance. However, if you've run through these steps and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and recommend the best course of action. How do I adjust height for carpet brush on DC28 Dyson animal?

Hi Laura, it's Jack at Dyson

DC28's selector pad (located by the red on/off switch) allows you to select the correct height setting for the particular flooring you're cleaning. Patented Dyson Airmuscle technology will then raise or lower the rotating brush bar within the cleaner head to the correct level for optimum performance, or shut it off for cleaning bare floors or delicate rugs.

When i run the vac the light flashes

Hi Chris, it's Jack at Dyson.

Your DC28's selector pad and/or on/off switch will flash to let you know if there's an issue with the vacuum. This could mean that something is jamming the brush bar, or that the vacuum is set to the wrong height for the type of flooring you're cleaning.

To check the cleaner head for any obstructions, and to remove any threads, hair or other debris from the brush bar, please follow the steps shown in our video guide:

This should resolve the issue, but if your machine continues to flash, please contact us directly so we can talk you through some further troubleshooting checks. You can reach our experts by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

The white carpet height button flashes

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC28's carpet height buttons will flash to let you know if you have the carpet height set too low for effective cleaning. Raising the brush bar to the next available height on the selector pad should resolve this.

If you find it continues to flash, it would be worth checking the cleaner head to ensure there are no obstructions. It's also a good idea to remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar:

If you'd like further advice from our experts after giving this a try, please give us a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Brush bar will not engage when you vacuum it will spin when vacuum is off when try to vacuum nothing

        Hi there,

It's important to note the brushbar won't rotate when the cleaner is stood in the upright position, or if the height selector is set for 'Bare floors'.

To check you have the carpet height selector adjusted correctly, please see the user guide supplied with your cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

I have a brand new Dyson DC28 Airmuscle Vacuumand it is so hard to push and/or pull. Is there a button to make it easier or is it the machine?

        Hi there,

Your DC28 is equipped with Airmuscleâ„¢ technology, which allows you to raise or lower the brushbar to suit the flooring you're trying to clean. You should be able to make your DC28 easier to push by changing the setting of the carpet height selector. You can find out how to adjust this in the user guide included with the cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

        http://media.dyson.com/downloads/US/floorcare/Manuals/dc28_opmanual_usa.pdf

By raising the brushbar, you should be able to reduce the force needed to push and pull the cleaner. If you've tried this, it may simply be the powerful suction which is making it feel a little heavy to use.

If you're still concerned, please get in touch with us free on 1866MYDYSON or email askdysonUS@dyson.com. One of our experts will be happy to answer your questions.

All three (3) pile lights blink, the vacuum is also hard to push.

        Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28 Animal. The pattern of indicator lights you've described suggests that you may need to reset the cleaner by turning it off for at least 30 seconds. If the cleaner feels hard to push, you may have the brushbar set at a level too low for the type of carpet you're trying to clean. I'd suggest setting it at the next available height on the selector pad.

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, or if you're unable to reset the cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so we can resolve this for you as quickly as possible. You can call us free on 1866MYDYSON.
