Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
Find a way to click on a "Computer" icon. It might show up on your desktop... or you may find it in your start menu down at the bottom left It will open up a window that lists all the drives hooked up in your computer. It will list what your drive letter is. You should be able to double-click on the drive there.. and it should open up a window where you can select "open". However, when you pop in the disc, the darn thing should open up and give you the option of installing the game all by itself. You shouldn't have to go through this B.S. You might try blowing into your open disc drive... and maybe dislodge some debris that may be causing you a problem. (A real computer technician might use a spray-can of compressed air for this.) Also, look closely at the disc and see if there are any severe scratches on it... or maybe some dried strawberry jam... that's keeping the disc from being read properly. (You do know that computers have "evil spirits" in them, don't you???) You might try running the disc in a different computer and see if it recognizes your disc. It's possible to get a disc that doesn't really have anything on it.

If this is a new computer check to see if it's a 32 bit or 64 bit system.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I tried the sims 2 game on another computer, which has vista home premium OS. The same problem occurred on that computer. I wonder if the game changed the registry and prevents the game from being reinstalled.

If your computers CD drive isn't on D:, then it wont work. To find out what it is on, go to My Computer, and look for the one that says something similar to "Sims(C:)". The letter may be different than what the book says, so whichever has the disk in it is going to be the one you use.

hi, best thing to do is to get a "no-cd crack" from one of the file sharing websites eg, piratebay.com. Other than that you could search google for it, you will be give instructions on how to use the crack- its pretty easy. By the way do u know that the picture shows the sims 1?

Try to clean the disk with a cotton t-short or a cd cleaning cloth ($2 at electronics stores). Try again. If it still doesn't work, then your disk is defective. Call EA.
