No lights upstaires circuit breaker keeps tripping

1) Move wire to another same-size circuit breaker to eliminate bad circuit breaker as suspect.
Do NOT increase size of breaker or it will cause fire.

2) Put hand on each appliance and outlet to see which ones are warm. Outlet should never be warm or hot. Replace outlet. Inspect wires for loose and burned connections.

3) If the breaker is good, then add up total watts being used by checking watt rating on each device. 100 watt light bulb is 100 watts. Big screen TV has a label that shows 300 to 500 watts. Computer has label. Space heater has label showing 1500 watts. Iron has a watt rating label. Take total watts and divide by 110Volts and this will give amp load. Total watts used = 2000 and then divide 2000 by 110 volts = 18.8 amps
Compare amp load with circuit breaker.
20 amp circuit breaker has 80% safe maximum, or 16 amps.
If amp load is 18.8 amps, then 20 amp breaker is starting to get hot, and weak breaker will start tripping.
If amp load is 18.8 amps, and breaker is 15 amps, then you are overloaded and breaker is feeling the heat, and tripping because of heat.
Solution is to reduce amp load.

4) If you have short circuit, that can also trip breaker.
Unplug everything and then plug things back in slowly to see which plug or appliance is causing the problem.

My amp is not putting out all the watts


sorry to tale you, but my opinion SONY just SUCKS... as you can tell. Might wanna upgrade your amp. I have had no luck with sony. Try audiobahn, mmat, ppi, mcintosh, zappco, orion, rockford. THESE are a lot better amp to go with by far. But thier is a lot better brands out thier that just knocks sony in the dirt. my favorite happens to be the audiobahn A2300HCX aka cheater amp. NICE AMPS. it also depends on what kind of subs you got to

Hi i have two 10'' jenson xs sub and they are about 6 years old and i was wondering wut amp size i should buy to run them.


I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck

SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND BUY A 400 WATT AMP?


All amps aren't created equal. More exspense amps put out "cleaner" power. You need to know what the RMS power rating is for the amp at 8 ohms and 4 ohms. Also, is the speaker an 8 or 4 ohm speaker? How you wire a speaker or speakers (series or paralell) can change the ohms (resistence) which will change the power put out of the amp. Also, I'm assuming you are setting it up in mono?

Hello monkey_flea, Your subs will share the amp output. And if you are not careful, you'll end up blowing them. The amp puts out 1300 watts RMS at 2ohms, the subs have an RMS power range of from 75-350 watts, and you'll be driving them with 650 watts each. A better power match would be to series the subs to present an 8ohm final load. This will reduce the output power to a level the subs can handle. Or you could buy 2 more 12.1's and connect them series-parallel for a 4ohm load and each sub would still be getting 325 watts RMS, just about the maximum they are rated to handle. Hope this helps.

Is amp big enough for speakers


Hello,

To run 2 subs, the amp would be a little small. The subs will run OK, they just won't be very loud.

It's usually better to compare and match up the RMS power rather than the peak power. The Sony XS-L10P5B sub has a peak power handling figure of 1200 watts, but the RMS is 300 watts. The Sony XM-ZZR3301 monoblock amp puts out 1100 watts peak, but only 330 watts RMS. They would work great together, 1 sub, 1 amp. But if you add another sub, each one would only be getting about 165 watts. They'd work OK, just not as loud as they could be.

2000 watt inverter blows 60 amp fuse under load


I have a background in electronics so i hope i can help. Now after reading this i have the feeling this item does not put out 2000 watts cause if that were the case it should draw somewhere near 147amps. This is because to find out amps you need to take the 2000 watts and divide it by 13.6 volts (assuming what the vehicle runs at) that gives you amps. watts/volts=amps.

If you got the store bought APC 350 UPS, you most likely overloaded them, and killed them beyound repair.

People should never buy a 350VA. They are way to small for power supplies most of us now have. you need to start out to 1000VA plus you need to do the math to figure out how big of a UPS you actually need in the show room.

Pre amp to amp


Pre-amps don't put out 750 watts. They put out about 1 volt at several thousandths of a watt. I think you are calling a 750 watt amplifier a pre-amp, and that ****** will definitely fry things.
