Unplug the range from the wall first. Just raise the cook top and the elements are attached to the bottom of it, probably by four screws. Note how the wires are plugged in then unplug them, unscrew the element that don't work, screw the new one in plug the wires back and put the cook top back down. The wires should have blade connectors to easily unplug and replug.

SOURCE: Element Problem

I believe the range you have has a relay board mounted on the rear of the unit. The element switches tell the relay board when to turn the element on and off. You probably have a stuck relay on this board.
This type of set-up is fairly new and not a whole lot of people have worked on them. They will throw a good repairman for a loop the first time he tries to diagnose one.

I have a Simpson electric oven with stove top elements, and one of the burners will only cook at the highest level, I cant figure out how to change it, any suggestions?

You need to change the "Simmerstat", take the model number to your local electrical parts supplier/parts counter at your local stove retail shop that sells Simpson stoves and ask for one for that model, make sure you get the right one for the position as some control a single element and some control dual elements.

*** TURN OFF THE WALL SWITCH AND ENSURE NO POWER IS APPLIED TO THE STOVE BEFORE PROCEEDING ****
Remove the upper back panel of the stove. Swap wire for wire of the old simmerstat to the new one, remove the knob from the old Simmerstat, undo the nut securing the simmerstat in the oven control panel and discard, fit new one, secure, fit knob, fit back panel, turn on wall switch and test.

Some countrys/states require registered electricians perform this task on electrical appliances so you must ensure you can do this legally before you start and take the relevant safety precautions and don't electrocute yourself.

I need a bottom element for a general electric stove (deluxe model) built in 1952. I also would like to get a manual if there is one out there. This stove has been used in the summer only since 1966 and I...

If you know the model number of the stove. Go to Repair Clinic.com web site. Type in the model number, all available parts for that model number will be displayed. You can also call them on thier 800 number. i have used this site many times and found the people very helpful.

Where are the bottom elements located on a kenmore electric stove c880 type 30s..

They are under the oven cavity. The Built in elements are considered a deluxe feature. In case it needs to be changed depending of the manufacturer ( Kenmore is only a name and many suppliers build product that are rebranded Kenmore ) the element is accessible through the right or left side. In case it needs to be changed you can remove the side panel and slide the baking element out to change itr

I have a kelvinator De Ville deluxe eye level stove. The top oven does not heat up. I expect a fuse is blown. Where is the fuse box?

Check you heating element for blisters or cracks the elements are usually the first to go, if not a wire may have burnt off the backas far as a fuse not knowing model no. i would say there is none unless it is digitally controlled

Kenmore electric stove model c880.6383880 left front burner does not work....it is not the element itself as it heats up on another burner.

hi,

sounds like you have the old-style coil elements on you stove.

your problem is the switch under the element, called the infinite switch. i would suggest to have a technician replace it. they usually charge for the labour but if you have never done it before, it's money well spent.
