Question about Maytag MAV7600 Top Load Washer
Repair guy just came out said i need switch @ 158.92 and a timer.. i have looked up systoms with timer and i don;t have that problem. would this be something a women wh's smart can do
Maytag Original Top Load Washer
If the problem with your Maytag washer is that is not filling properly, not taking cold water, not taking hot water, or not taking any water at all.
Or if the washer keeps taking water and overflows even when the washer is on the off position.
The problem could be a bad water valve. To check it out, do the following.
1. Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet
2. Open the controls panel
3. Remove the cabinet
4. Set your multimeter to read more than 2000 ohms
5. Take a reading between the two terminals on the two solenoids on the water valve
6. The reading should be between 700 and 1800 ohms on each solenoid
If the reading is infinity on any solenoid, the water valve is bad and most be replaced

I believe the issue is with the water inlet valve assembly
going bad and should be replaced, this unit has two valve one for cold and
another for hot. You can test the valve first if that is fine then check the
pressure switch which is part#4 in this diagram. Hope this helps...please post
back for further assistance.
