Water Valve
Maytag Original Top Load Washer
If the problem with your Maytag washer is that is not filling properly, not taking cold water, not taking hot water, or not taking any water at all.
Or if the washer keeps taking water and overflows even when the washer is on the off position.
The problem could be a bad water valve. To check it out, do the following.
1. Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet
2. Open the controls panel
3. Remove the cabinet
4. Set your multimeter to read more than 2000 ohms
5. Take a reading between the two terminals on the two solenoids on the water valve
6. The reading should be between 700 and 1800 ohms on each solenoid
If the reading is infinity on any solenoid, the water valve is bad and most be replaced

I don't understand how to set the timer on my UP 15-10-B5/TLC Grundfos circulating pump. When it is not plugged in, we have a hard time getting hot water

Sounds like 2 problems:
1) Crossover and 2) Setting timer
Recirculation system has check valve that stops backflow of water when pump is turned off.
When check valve is clogged with sediment, or has worn out, then cold water enters hot pipe or hot water enters cold pipe when faucet is turned on.
Take apart connection where grundfos connects to both hot and cold pipes, and clean with white vinegar or CLR.

Open following link for setting typical FM/1 analog timer module on Grundfos recirculation pump:
Your timer module may vary in appearance.
Slide switch selector might be located below timer dial.

Calypso will not advance past wash cycle. I have a Calypso GVW9959K washer that displays no error codes and will run all functions in test mode. Problem is - it will run forever in the wash mode (clock...

If the machine is filling and washing but not advancing then the timer mechanism is not fuctioning. There is no codes so all other parts must be working, likke the pressure switch. You might test the door or lid switch this can sometimes hang these up. to test simply jump across the switch with a jumper wire. Basically
  • If the washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer does not advance, the timer probably needs to be replaced
  • If the timer does not advance while the washer is in a spin cycle, the timer probably needs to be replaced
  • I am supplying the service manual for this machine. Please be careful when attempting any repair and always make sure the machine is unplugged before starting any repair. This manual include service guides for testing components as well if your capable of these tests. The link will lead you to the manual. These manuals are not easy to come by due to the fact they are meant for service personell who make a living on these so it is inclusive and should help you in you issue.

    Hi

I believe the issue is with the water inlet valve assembly going bad and should be replaced, this unit has two valve one for cold and another for hot. You can test the valve first if that is fine then check the pressure switch which is part#4 in this diagram. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a Whirlpool AWG338 that has suddenly stopped drawing water. It will run a cycle as if water is there but never actually draws from the main. It has both hot and cold supply.

If water is not getting into the machine, and the hot and cold water faucets are connected, and have good pressure, then parts that can cause the problem are inlet valve, water level switch and timer control.

To start cut power to the applianc3e for five minutes, this can fix a jammed timer control.

If that does not work you may need to call a repairman to test the following:

The inlet valve must be tested by energizing it , testing valve solenoid, and reading voltages to identify a fault in wiring (contact).

If the inlet valve is fine when tested, worth having a look at the water level switch, if it is stuck on overfill position , it will prevent water from getting into the machine.

Lastly, the timer control board should be tested, to ensure that the problem is not a faulty timer keeping the inlet valve on close position.

Maytag washer wont start after it fills

Did you replace the pressure switch its a round plastic thing with a plastic tube at the bottom and six electrical connections

Washing machine fills in the water but does not start the wash cycle

The fact that it does not fill completely can be related to a problem with the water-level switch, that regulates the water level.

    See from Repairclinic:
"This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch."

However, when it is only the switch the mashine usually completes the cycle, but with less water than normal.

A possibilty is that either the timer is faulty or there is a problem with the water supply.

Check that water is coming from water supply with regular pressure, and that hoses back there are not obstructed.

More likely you will have to replace the timer.

    See again from Repairclinic:
"When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water."

  • You can find parts at the following websites, you need to input your model number. If the part is not listed contact them.

Don't forget to rate the solution.

    Many thanks.

    Water in front of fridge

The drain in the freezer is clogged. Remove racks, take off back panels. the drain is in the very back of the freezer under the cooling coils. You will see an aluminium tray the drain is in the middle. Use a pipe cleaner of some kind to clear the drain. Then flush with hot water. Don't push to hard or you may push the rubber drain tube off. Empty evaporator tray after.
