Try charging from a wall charger versus plugged into a computer if you havent. Also try removing the battery and reseating it, lastly Hold down the power button for about 20 seconds, this should hard reset the phone/tablet.

SOURCE: Hey whats the button on the top left of the phone

The slider which is next to the volume button is ringing mode or ******** mode.
If the phones dead try charging it completely and try. If that doesnt work, then do a reset on the phone which will work.

SOURCE: My iphone's home button hasn't worked for a week

I do not recommend taking the iPhone apart yourself I've personally seen where my clients have done exactly that and broken the charge port or cracked the glass or ripped one of the ribbon connectors. If the home button is not responding you should have a technician look at it.

With that said...
If you absolutely cannot hire a technician...

There are two screws on the bottom of the phone once these are removed the screen assembly can be lifted slowly up from the bottom first - Please do not use a screwdriver to pry it up a suction cup will do the trick (the kind that holds a GPS to the windshield of your car should work). Once you have lifted the screen assembly look underneath toward the top right there are 3 ribbon connectors you can use your fingernail to pry up the connectors freeing the ribbon !-be gentle as these are fragile-! Your home bottom and it connector are located at the bottom of that screen assembly. You will see 2 gold connectors extending from the bottom of the screen. Be gentle with those they break EASY check where they make contact with the board are the contacts clean?

Is the button depressing(does it feel like a click?)?
--It may be that the small round metal piece that helps the button to depress has moved out of place and the button is no longer making contact.

Beyond this you will need a new button assembly which is quite tricky to replace since it is fused inside with the glass.

???!-Maybe time for a pro!???

IF YOU FOUND MY SOLUTION HELPFUL PLEASE VOTE 4 THUMBS UP.
(any less hurts our averages)
Thank you and Good Luck!

SOURCE: My 3GS is totally, 100% dead.

Try a different charger and to hard reset the iPhone (menu and on/off together for 5sec). If that fails too there is a hardware issue. Apple should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it and replace dock connector. If that fails you need a new logic board. You can get the part at iPad Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at iPad Repair Guide.

It probably just a defective battery. Bring it to the apple store to see if you get a replacement through them. If you can't, there are third party iPhone repair services, that will fixed it for cheap. Also, I found an DYI iphone repair guide, so you can do it yourself too, not that difficult.

Updating via PC suit/ Ovi suit is very dangerous ...here phoenix is the best 100% working ,Don't you want to try ?

First download and install Pheonix from this link. Nokia Phoenix Service Software 2011 - Download secondly Download flash file from this link 3110c file and install it to C / program files/pheonix.. after finished this installation open pheonix . Inside the interface at the> top left <there you see "File" click there and choose "open file" and then select the approprait Product type i.e "which is written on the back panel inside the battery of every Nokia(Type RM-000).After doing this again at the left top count from "File"1..2..3..the 4th one is "Flashing" press there, when you click there you'll see three sub-menus, just select the "Firmware Update" again you'll see another interface. Look at the product code there should be blank and put your "mouse tool" at the straight end from the "Product Code" there is a Button and choose the code which is written in the back side of your phone. e.g CODE:0000000.if the same code does not found just take one which is higher. After this you can see "Dead phone USB flashing" click that box. Now this is the last stage... Connect your phone with the USB to your PC and let the driver install ...wait for a moment.(If your phone working).Lastly after just finished (In case your phone is Dead, unable to switch on in normal mode start from here) Connect the phone to pc without powering...insert good battery and Click the "Referbish" button after this, a message will prompt you "press power botton" etc. insert charger or press it and wait until the phone will Restart automatically in normal mode 10-15 minutes. My scooter battery won't charge. Felt mild shock or short when attempted to insert connector. That seemed to disable the charger because the charger powers on, but will not run the charge to the...

Make sure that the charger is fully connected to the scooter; ususally the controller lights will go slowly left to right to indicate it is charging. Make sure the charger is plugged directly into the grounded wall outlet, not into an extension cord or power bar. If the charger is not being recognized by the scooter, you may need to replace the charger, or at least the power cord to the charger.
If your scooter has been sitting unused for a while? If so, the batteries might not charge anymore and will need to be replaced. Contact the manufacturer for a service call or troubleshooting over the phone.
Good luck!

When I plug the 12 volt charger in the lighter the green light goes on. When I plug the Maestro 4040 into the charger the green light goes off and the unit won't power up. I checked the power port and I am...

hey mousehunter, you say you have continuity, did you mean voltage..looking at your 4040 with the back off and screen face down (you probably know this already..sorry if you do) the power port should be on the lower left corner...open it back up and the contact at the top left is a ground as is the lower left corner, the lower right is a ground and the top right is the poss.....this is very common for these ports to fail

Does it look like the port has been replaced, or do you know if it was...normally this happens because of excessive heat from trying to solder a new port on it.

1st i would try a home charger to rule out the charger. (you can check if its working by going in the power options and looking at the power meter and see if its moving, assuming you can still turn it on)

if its totally dead, try this...remove the cover again and disconnect the battery, then press and hold the power button for 1 minute....with the battery unplugged, plug in a known good charger and press and hold the power button for up to ten seconds and see if it starts.

let me know what you find.
