Question about LG WM1815CS Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Leak problem My LG WM1815CS leaks a little bit of water throughout the cycle. It seems the water could be coming from the back right of it. I'm not sure if it leaks during or after a spin cycle . We have tried cleaning the pump plug drain on the front of the machine, but it is still leaking. Water is not leaking from the water connections or the end of the drain. The washer is only about 16 months old.

Re: Leak problem

Ours did same thing after nearly same amount of time.

Run a couple of sanitary cycles without any cloths.

Only use HE detergent.

Problem stopped after this

Solution for finding the right part, the (5 way) Valve assembly:Part Number: AP4998623 made by LG

I got the company link from LG. If the link does not work, go the the main website and enter in the model number. appliancepartspro(.)com
p.s. I found a service manual for my unit when I removed (by unscrewing) the inside plastic piece of the pump filter. It was located to the right, in a plastic bag.
p.s.s. I checked my water pressure, it was 90psi. I think this is why my flow limiter 'shot out' the valve and into the tubing.
p.s.s.s. The dryer heater assembly, the duct out, fan, and tubing was filled with so much lint, I was surprised anything could get through.

It seems to be flooding at the fill part of the cycle.. water level seems right but there is water coming out near the base at the back... The issue was first noticed after a finished cycle still was full...

It usually is, but you'll need to first determine where it's leaking from. You'll need to run it with the back off to find the leak. An exploded view should be available at

How do you open washer to get to inside cold water connection to fix leak? where are screws for top cover?

They are under the top cover at the rear of the machine, unscrew and slide the cover back about 20 mm and it will come off.

Water leak from the front of the machine

Clean off the bottom of the door glass. If hair or lint builds up there, it dose not seal completely and a little water will run down the front of the machine. If that does not solve your problem, you can try moving the spring clamp (which holds the front of the tub seal)so the spring part is moved to the hinge area (a 80 degree move) instead of at the bottom of the door.

Kenmore Washer Leak

Check the back of the tub as the water is coming in. Sometimes the water inlet gets knocked out of line if the machine shakes a lot or gets moved.

LG washer uses so little water, clothes aren't even damp and not clean

You will need to have a qualified LG technician come out and see what the problem is.  You may have a water level switch issue.

Suds leaking from back of washer near top

Suds are not supposed to leak from the top; means you are not using the right detergent. Use front loading powders. You can open up the top during next wash to locate where the leak is coming from (after changing powder). I understand suds appear in the window during spin....but leak? Caution when machine works with top open!

rate if helped pl........
