SOURCE: Error Code E000020-0225

Wedm/Craig. I will glady help you, and I am extremely confident that I am correct. More importantly I wish to to help you avoid The "COPIER DUDE COMPANY" taking a large chunk of your cash. I work for a "COPIER DUDE COMPANY" and we charge $200 just to say "yep, you have a problem". So lets start from square one and please forgive me if I get long winded and redundant. You tagged onto a request for help initiated by a customer called Brassmonkey who had a code of E000020-0181.This code means that when the copier attempted to calibrate each color (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) as it does from time to time to maintain optimum copy quality, the target values for yellow could not be achieved. Not even close. Yellow is the first color the copier checks and is used as a reference for the rest of the color calibration. Therefore it tends to be the primary error code in the event of a problem. Now here is where it gets hairy. Hang with me here. A patch of color is placed on what is called a transfer belt. This belt is where the image/copy is created prior to it being transferred to the paper. In fact, there is a point in time where the color copy you requested exists on this plastic belt, held by a staic charge, and is waiting to be pushed onto the paper as it goes through the machine. So when the copier goes thru periodic calibrations, again it makes a yellow "patch"....looks at it....... reajusts....looks at it... until it hits the optimum target of quality. And it does this for every color. So, now to the NUTS of it all. You have a drum&developer "unit" for each color. One dual unit for each. They are fed toner as they need it. Any one unit can fail due to shear normal use,and this is not a function of toner.{I have seen weird shit that defies logic before but toner is on the wierd shit list} Now, at some point the "plastic transfer belt " fails. So no matter how new the drum/developer units are, the "medium" from which the colors are being judged by cannot provide a valid measurement. Its like an old guy like me trying to read small print with scratched glasses. New text does not mean I can read it better. So now you have an 000020-0225 code. This means that the magenta color calibration failed. This tends to lean toward the transfer belt(scratched glasses) being worn. Two color calobration failures make ya wonder. Canon says that under the best of conditions the tranfer belt is good for 300K. These are all remote troubleshooting suggestions but at least you will have the benefit of these details. And the transfer belt is A: not real expensive and B: not labor intensive. I hope this helps. Good luck and take care. ............SPINAL........

Hi You can Try 2 things.
All the luck for you
There is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Next try.

It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire.
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

2. There should be an option under the clear menu for "pwd-clr".

3. Highlight it and then press OK.

4. On reboot the ID screen should have gone.

5. If not under the clear menu, please try MN-CON, that will clear the main controller.

Hope it helps.

What does error code E000001-0000 on a Canon IR5000 copier mean

The error code is much more likely to be E001, this is a fuser type fault. You should be able reset it in service mode. (copier, Funtion, Clear, error, turn m/c off then back on)
As the issue is a fuser temperature related. First, the error needs to be cleared. Turning off/on won't do that.
You could go into service mode and clear the error (*28* > copier> function > clear > err > ok. Then turn the copier off, then on again and watch it heat up. I always monitor the temperature to make sure it's in the acceptable range (190 C or around that range).
If it happens often I'd have the thermistors changed. If it still happens, check the connectors in back of the fuser. They may need to be shimmed.

Error msg E000001-0000 What can we do

that is a thermistor error code. there are several causes for this. the thermistors are dirty, the upper fixing roller is damaged or it might have paper wrapped around it, or the connecter on the back of the fixing frame has a hair line crack in it. now you can clear this code if you you think there isn't anything wrong with the afore mentioned items.

you have to get into service mode. first you will have to shut the copier off at the main power switch and turn it back on once the error code pops up on the screen you will need to get into service mode.
you hit the
additional funtions button
then the 2+8 at the same time
then additional funtions button again
once in service mode you will need to follow the following steps

hit the copier tab
then the funtions tab middle of screen across the top
then hit the clear tab
then the err tab and hit the ok button to clear error

now you only have like 30 seconds give or take to get into service mode and to clear the error code before the machine shuts down if you don't get in fast enough dont worry shut the copier off and turn it back on and keep trying till you get in and clear it. trust me it took me several tries my first time i realized this myself.

You have to enter servcice mode and reset the error code. Press the 'head' key with the star inside it - then the '2' and '8' key at the same time - then the HEAD key again. This must be done fairly quickly and then you're in the service mode. Now, from the screen select 'COPIER' then the 'FUNCTION' key then 'CLEAR' ---->'ERR' ---------> 'OK'. Now turn the machine off and on again. Your code should be gone. If not, you may have to clean the waste toner bottle neck where the sensor light shines through it.

Then select:
