SOURCE: trying to see if there

Power packs are one of those expensive items that can't be repaired.
If receptacle has power and bulbs are good, then power pack should turn on lights using manual override switch.
If power pack is not making humming sound, and there is no spark when you scrape a wire across wire terminals, then the power pack is dead.
Power packs don't come apart for repair.
There is no fuse or reset button.
And they don't have repair parts available on Intermatic or malibulights.com or e-bay.

However power packs have 5 year limited warranty.
'Harry' wrote me last month and said he was in contact with Malibulights.com for warranty reimbursement. I hope he writes back and says how that came out.
http://malibulights.com/customer_service/contact_us.aspx

'Harry' also came up with ingenuous solution if power pack still turns lights ON. His timer stopped working. He bought a cheap plug-in timer and then connected power pack to that timer.

You can add a comment and let me know what happens.
Fixya also offers phone support for a fee. The paid specialist can tell you the same information for a fee.

After hours researching power packs at Intermatic, Malubulights.com, ebay etc, the best I found were tips for next power pack that might save money:
The reason I add these tips now, before your power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote-in.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
1) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
-15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
2) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
3) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
4) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

SOURCE: i have the ML300RTW transformer. Just need to know

Here's how to check your power pack: Connect everything and set trippers randomly, and then manually rotate dial clockwise and watch when lights turn on-off, this will let you check if you have trippers set correctly.
As time passes, the dial rotates, and trippers push on-off lever that turns low-voltage lamps on-off.

If trippers no longer work, it's because trippers are worn down or the lever is worn out or the electrical contacts have burned. And the clock motors slow down and burn out.
There are no repair parts for low-voltage transformers. No trippers or timers.
"Harry" wrote to fixya with idea when timer no longer works: he bought cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and then plugged power pack into cheap timer.

HI , I would like to know what the red tripper represent "on" or "of " ?

The red tripper is ON.

Put trippers into dial, and then manually rotate dial to see how the lights turn on-off.
Rotate the round override switch and then rotate the dial again to see what affect the override switch has.
These actions will help you understand how to set power pack.

I need instructions for setting the timer

Malibu product manuals
http://www.malibulights.com/customer_service/owners_manuals.aspx

Manual for 300 Watt power pack
http://malibulights.com/docs/pdf/8100-9300-01.pdf
Read cautions

Tips
300 Watt power pack requires sum of bulbs to equal 300 Watts
If you use 10 - 20 watt bulbs that is only 200 Watts so you need 200 Watt power pack

Replace burnt out bulbs immediately or other bulbs will burn out and shorten life of power pack
When working on bulbs, unplug power pack so it does not shorten life of power pack

Set Malibu Timer:
Red trippers are ON
Black trippers are OFF
Place trippers on dial at ON OFF times/ AM and PM

Set current time of day:
Plug in power pack
Trippers are installed
Rotate dial counter-clockwise to current time, say 9 am
Rotate dial 2 more revolutions and then return to current time
That's it

According to Intermatic literature, ML series Power Pack uses 107SB189 ON tripper, and 107SB192 OFF tripper. I have not ordered these trippers and no image seems available.

Red On tripper available at IntermaticStore.com
