How i download direct 3d device 9?

"direct 3d device 9" is the directX for Win98. For Windows 98 you have to install DirectX 8.1b. If you graphic card does not support 3D function you will not have "3D acceleration".

For DirectX 9, try this link @ http://www.falconfly.de/directx.htm

Hope it helps.

It keeps saying when i try to play one of my games: Initialization Error: Direct3D renderer creation error: Creation failed:

Hello,

The first thing you should do is check on the installation CD/DVD game on for any readme.txt or
troubleshooting.txt files.

The readme.txt file should list the graphics cards that the game is compatible with. Make sure that your graphics card is compatible with the game.

Also the same file may tell you which version of DirectX the game requires.

Make sure you have the version of DirectX required installed. Most games have the DirectX libraries needed in a folder on the game's installation CD/DVD.

Also there is a program in C:\Windows\System32 called dxdiag.exe you can run this to diagnose your DirectX setup and your machine.

Hope this helps.

Hello, the problem seem to be related to the video card you're currently using, See if you have an integrated video card: a hint to find out is to see behind your computer if the monitor connection is on a side of the back panel is probable you have an incompatible integrated video system, you can solve this problem by buying and installing a compatible video card as any Nvidia or ATI card, Call an IT professional and ask for some advice on what card you should buy and install to make these problems disappear, also ask him/her to install it for you.

Have a nice day, and If you have any other questions you can come back and reply.

PD: If you still want to buy and install it yourself ask me again and I'll help you.

Good morning, I was given a 3 pack (Marine SharpShooter Trilogy as a gift, & was deployed (Militarily) soon afterwards, so I hadn't set it up on my computer. I am home now, & loaded the 1st disc...

It is a video compatibility error. First make sure you have DirectX 10. Download HERE.

The error message: 'Could Not Initialize Renderer' means that your video card does not fully support the features required by Marine Sharpshooter II (Hardware T&L Not Supported)

Now we need to talk about your video chip. You haven't listed what you have for video in your computer so I can only give you general help. Try the following and if you need more help post back with you specific video chip make and model.

1. download / install 3D-Analyze (http://www.3dfxzone.it/files?object=3dfx&objid=100)
2. select (.exe) program
3. check Emulate HW TnL
4. check Force SW TnL Caps
5. click run

You may end up having to get a DirectX 9.0c compliant card from Nvidia (Geforce) or AMD/ATI (Radeon)

How to initialize directx 9 renderer

1. Just install the latest directX 9 @ DirectX 9.0c (Jun 10) download

2. Update your Graphic Cards drivers from the Manufacturers' site.

3. Update your PC/Laptop hardware drivers to the latest versions!

If you have done the above and still cannot cannot use the directx 9 rendering, most probably your graphic card does not support the rendering options.

Hope it helps.

Have loaded THQ world of zoo on computer, when we hit play it comes up with Failed to render engine. Fatal error. Can you help

GetDeviceCaps() is a DirectX routine call made by the game engine to check you video card details, what all it is capable of supporting, and after that the game engine takes certain decisions on what all things to initialize for it. If that is failing, it means that the game engine is not able to read your video card properly. In plain language your Video card cannot support the game software.

Chance that there is something wrong with your video drivers. Try to update your Video card drivers to the most current. and also update your DirectX.

If your video card is the problem, upgrade to a better one that can support the game video.

Hopes it helps.

The following was taken from http://www.busdrivergame.com/support.php#14 Based on the below description, I believe your problem would be solved by updating your video card drivers. The ones that ship with the card on cd are always very old. Here is a link to get the new drivers from NVIDIA. You did not say, so I will assume you have Windows XP, if so, here is the link for the most recent driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html If you do not have XP, then go to this link and find one for you OS http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us If this works, I would appreciate a rating, I am new to fixya and would like to get a good rating. Thanks and Good Luck!! 14. I get a message saying: We are sorry, but the operating system failed to provide the window to render game graphics in. Bus Driver immediately crashes with a Prism3D error. There are several possible causes for this to happen. In most cases, the critical element of resolving the problem is upgrading video card drivers. (See #8 above)
  • Reportedly, some computer vendors ship new machines with the system preconfigured, but without proper drivers for the particular brand of 3D accelerator card installed, including OpenGL support. Make sure to always have proper up to date 3D card drivers installed.
  • Upgrades of certain Windows components (upgrade of DirectX, a Service Pack application) may require driver reinstallation afterwards.
  • You may have your desktop color depth (Color quality) in Windows set to 256 colors. Make sure you have Windows running in 16-bit or 32-bit color depth.
  • You may be using a very old computer with hardware capabilities below minimum specifications required to run Bus Driver.
