Where is belt located on Hoover wind tunnel vacum. And how to replace it. My brushes are not spinning.

Its usually located underneath the body of the unit, turn it upside down and you should see the beater brush. You need to open the bottom cover to get at the brush and drive belt.

How to change vacuum belt on bissell 6583-x

I am not familiar with this model but the first step would be to
remove the brush bar cover...this may be attached by screws
or numbered tabs which are released in sequence starting
with #1. With the cover off pull the brush bar out and slip the
belt off the pulley. Be sure to buy the correct belt and line up
the groove on the brush bar with the motor pulley...put the belt on
the pulley and stretch the brush bar forward and insert into the
slots on the sides. I hope all this applies to your vacuum.

Dyson DC44

Hi Juliet,

I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty with your brush bar. We recommend taking an opportunity to remove your brush bar and ensure it is free from any debris that might obstruct it. It is also helpful to inspect your cleaner head for any damage. Next, we recommend removing your wand from the main body and attaching your cleaner head directly to the main body of your machine to determine if your brush bar spins.

If your brush bar spins when the cleaner head is attached to the main body your wand may need to be replaced. If it does not the issue may be with the cleaner head. We recommend calling our Helpline with your findings so we can provide assistance with next steps.

Eureka as1100 roller brush not spinning. We have already replaced the main belt but there is a secondary belt that drives the roller brush and we can't figure out how to access this belt.

Sorry folks, but there's no Eureka with this model no. The model number can be found on a sticker, usually on the bottom of the unit. We'll need the correct model to access schematics of the body so I can tell you how to access the belts.

I need to change the small belt

Just remove the cover on the bottom of the vacuum by loosening the screws holding it on. Once they are off, you'll be able to slide out the rotating brush, and you'll see the belt there. Look inside the vacuum also, as when they break, they can spring anywhere in the machine. Usually they will come out when you remove the brush. Once you have the brush out, just slide the new belt over it and replace the brush from where it came. Then return the cover you first took off. All set and ready to start cleaning again !!

If you need to buy a replacement belt, take the model number from your machine to the store or contact the manufacturer online or by phone. It should only cost you about $5. for the belt.
I have the same model number and I had no problem.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Brush not moving, suction working

This machine is made for Sears by Panasonic. The power head, depending on model has a "gear" / cog belt or a standard flat rubber belt. First turn the power head over and see if the brush roller turns easily, if so you do need a new belt. To access the belt you will have to remove the hood from the power head. There are 4 screws, one at each of the corners to take out. Once the hood is off you will see where the belt goes and find "teeth" in the motor shaft for the motor / brush roller if you need a gear belt. If both of these are flat you need a rubber belt.
You can go to and find the belt you need with the vacuums model number.

We have model number 116 369 32502

I`m guessing this is a Kenmore. If you can hear the motor running inside the head you need a new belt. If there are no visible screws underneath the hea at the front area where the brush sits, gently squeeze the sides of the light housing and you will find it pops off to expose two screws. Undo them and the lid will pop off the main body. You can find a replacement belt at sears or vac specialt shop. check to see the brush rolls freely and no hair is caught under the metal caps. There is a spacer washer under the caps on the end of the brush. DO NOT LOSE these.

I have a dyson upright and he beater brush is not turning

There are four possible reasons for the problem. We will take them from the easiest to fix to the hardest.

1. The manual clutch is not engaged. On the bottom right side of the vaccum is the manual clutch knob. Be sure it is rotated all the way forward. The clutch should now engage when the handle is lowered from the upright position to the vacuumig position.

2. The brush bar is entangled with debris keeping it from turning. Turn the vacuum over, remove the brush bar cover by using a coin to turn the screw like pinions a quarter turn counter-clockwise. Remove any hair, carpet fibers or other items wrapped around the brush bar. Disengage the manual clutch by turning it toward the back of the vacuum. Try turning the brush bar by hand to see that it moves freely.

3. The brush bar is broken. While you have the brush bar cover removed, inspect the brush bar for any cracks or other signs of damage. The frequency of a damaged or defective brush bar is higher than most people may think. If damaged, the brush bar will need to be replaced.

4. The clutch assebly is not functioning properly. In that case, it would be best to have a service tech handle the matter. If you want to inspect the clutch or even consider replacing it yourself, this link may be of interest:

Hope I've been of some help.
