Usually in a Cathode Ray Tube Television a blown fuse is either something is wrong in the high voltage power supply section or the flyback transformer is bad, or a bad horozontil output transistor.

Samsung LN40B500P3FXZA TV has no power. Replaced bad 3.1A fuse but it blew again when attempting to power on. No obvious bad components (blown capacitors). 6.3A fuse is still good.

Since that I have not schematic diagram of your tv... I cannot figured you out the exact part number of those components that caused the problem, but the possible reason why the fuse are always blown when you turned on the unit? because there are some bad filter capacitor, rectifier diodes and power IC regulator in primary power circuit section.

This is caused by one of two things; a bad LED grouping (most common cause) either because the LEDs are bad or the power distributor fuse is blown and the group isn't getting power from the power supply unit. Or two: bad pixel group. But I'd check your backlight power supply for bad connections, blown fuses, or check your led groups for bad leds.

Hi Camomia,
This type of repair could be a bit challenging but possible if the screen is not cracked.
There is plenty of info on you tube for fixing this model number.

Give me the model number for more accurate diagnoses....
It seems as though there is a DC problem on the power supply, it could be a simple fuse. Or it could be that a fault on another board is causing the power supply to shut its self down.....The TV is in self protect mode because of a short an open component somewhere. Like I said it could be just a fuse has blown. If the indicator light is on then its probably not a fuse problem, but rather an electrical fault.
