Mag Innovision LT576s won't power up

Someone donated an old Mag Innovision LT576s to our church. I bought a power supply for it on e-bay (the power supply was billed as new and it appears to be so). The power supply indicator lights up, put the monitor does nothing when the power button is depressed. Are we the proud owners of a brick and a power supply that we don't need? Thanks, Bill

I have the same problem with the same monitor. Sunday morning 11/4/07 it just would not power up in church. No problems or indication of problems. Could it be the power supply? How do I tell without wasting the money for a new supply? The church is not high on funds at present.

I have the same problem with a mag Product number LT 565 model number 568. the green light flashes but nothing displays. The green light is supposed to stay solid when on but mine flashes. It should flash orange when no signal is detected but this is not the case. I have also tried to use the power on button to turn the unit either on or off but nothing happens.

I checked the power supply with a meter and it seems to be putting out the correct voltage and amps. I tried a different power supply from a different monitor manufactuer with the same results. My guess is the monitor has a short or something and it is nothing more then a decorative brick now.

MAG innovision LT-926W 900W problem! After I turn on my computer, the screen immediately begins to flash and then goes black. The power is still on thought and so is my computer. If I take a flash light...

this means your power inverter inside the monitor is dead. This little gizmo lights up the monitor backlight. They dont fail all at once, but slowly die and give problems like you describe, you can order these online for your monitor , or find one on ebay for under 30 dollars, but unfortunately there is no fix, other than replacing the inverter. sorry. Please use the thumbs up rating if you find my answer helpful, albeit bad news. Take care. .

Mag Innovision LT576S monitor goes blank after 2 seconds

I would think that the monitor is the issue, especialy that in safe mode it still does not function properly!

The fault with the monitor may be in the scan amplifier circuits, and or the power supply.

When I used to service these, I found many times that there were defective electrolytic capacitors in the scan amplifier sections and the power supply that gave problems.

This type of repair is time consuming, and when out of warranty it may not be worth the cost.

I would be seriously considering an LCD monitor.

Mag Innovision LT776s Model 780

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
