My machine is aproximately two years old, it started groaning, had a rubber burning smell. The problem seems to be with whatever the front pully goes to. has anyone had this problem, what is the front pully attached to. Help please. I sure can't afford a new washer.
The motor will have to be replaced if bearings are out. However, the smell you describe sounds like the belt slipping, which means something else is binding up. With the belt removed, turn each pulley and double check each one. A water pump is much more likely to fail than a motor. Good Luck

This apparently is the motor. I got the front off the machine. is it possible to replace the bearings or will I have to buy a new motor.
well, I pulled the motor, took it to the repair shop, had the guy look at it, he said all it needed was a new pully, for me to go back and check my transmission. In the meantime my son twisted off one of the all thread bolts that tighten the belt up so will have to go back tomorrow to get a bolt, then will put the motor back on and check out the transmission, but the transmission seems to be moving like the repair shop said it should move. So I don't know yet.
