SOURCE: My cat has suddenly stopped using his litter box. Why would this be? How can I get him to return to the litter box?

Is there any chance you have recently switched brands of litter? Cats can be extremely particular when it comes to what kind of litter you put in their litter box. If you find one that works, you should stick with it. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

SOURCE: What factors should I consider when deciding what kind of litter to buy for my cats litter box?

With all of the brands and varieties to choose from, selecting a litter can be daunting. I have come up with some tips to help you make a decision in regards to litter features:

  • materials
  • appeal to your cat
  • ease of use
  • cost
  • scent
  • environmentally friendly
  • scoop or throw away
  • flushable
  • dust

SOURCE: How much litter should I put in the litter box?

You should have enough litter to allow your cat to easily cover any waste it leaves behind. Make sure that there is enough so that they don't feel the bottom of the litter box. You should give your cat a minimum of a 2 inch base of litter in the box.

SOURCE: Why is clumping cat litter better than clay litter?

Neither one is better than the other, they are based on preference. More people prefer to use clumping cat litter. Although clay litter is cheaper and absorbs well, clumping cat litter offers more advantages in my opinion. Clumping cat litter is much friendlier to the environment, seeing as you do not need to throw away the whole litter box every time your cat releases waste. It is easy to dispose of your cats waste products and helps to diminish the amount of odors.

SOURCE: I would really like my cat to have a clean litter box throughout the day. Do self-cleaning litter boxes really work? If so, this could be a worthwhile investment.

I would recommend you check out the LitterMaid litter box. It has two sensors on either side of the box that detect when a cat uses it. After 10 minutes, a rake automatically comes and scoops clumps of solid and liquid waste into a disposable container at the end of the litter box. Keep in mind that this does not eliminate you cleaning the box.

WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO CLEAN KITTY LITTER

I like the scoopable kind. Then each day you just scoop out the waste and put it in small plastic bag and throw it in the trash. About every month or so, dump the box, clean it and refill with clean litter. If you use the ordinary clay litter just put a little in the box and dump the whole thing each day.

I bought the multiple cat litter box$169 to be exact. I only have one cat but this box has never worked It is the worst I`ve ever had

Return it.

Save money and buy one of those large dome litter boxes. Cut some carpet strips and lay them on the steps where they come out to catch the litter.

Or is it because you don't like to clean the box and have the box do it for you? Sorry can't help you there but return and buy another one / exchange it

Where can I get rid of my cat's waste?

You should tie the waste in a plastic bag and throw it away to the toilet, it is 100 percent flushable and you shouldn't worry about it.

Where is the best place to dispose of kitty litter?

Most city councils donot dispose of kitty litter so you have to disguise it with your householdrefuse. Use Clumping litter which means when you are clearing out the littertray you are only removing the soiled parts.
