SOURCE: officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

SOURCE: INK SYSTEM FAILURE HP8250 I am using genuine HP

Hello,

Yes, the problem is either air or dry ink in the ink feed tubes. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com Look on the printer repair page and click the HP link. We have a step by step guide to purging the ink feed tubes that should get you back going again. Use the guide for Non-fax function HP printers. If the ink is dry you may have to repeat the purge several times to get the lines clear enough to print. You will also need to have full ink cartridges when you do the reset. If you have any questions just use the email address below.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

SOURCE: will not print, has error message 0xc18a0406. ink system failure

The ink system failure message has a chance to be fixed or it may be a permanent issue. It can be pointing toward a firmware failure in the printer and if that is the case the following steps should fix it.
Press and hold the “*” key. Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
Press and release in sequence the "1”, “2” and “3” buttons.
Display should say “Support” and display the FW rev (something like R0631R)
Mine reads R0631M
. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.
Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer.
Turn the unit on. The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK. The Printer will start the “ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS”. Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page. Good Luck!

Canon MX882 U052 code, "incorrect" print head error, already tried the basics

The print head electronics are failing, you may get a little more life out of it but I'm sorry to say that nine times out of ten the printhead will need replacement.

the part # is QY6-0080

10% of the time the printhead and logic board will both be faulty and require replacement AT THE SAME TIME, a faulty board can trash a good head and a faulty head has been known to trash a good logic board.

you will need at least 40% ink in each of your cartridges to prime the new printhead

Even after reinstalling printhead an ink cartridges on Kodakhero 5.1 printer, I still get the error message that the printhead is loose, missing, or not properly installed. What do I do?

Most likely this is a print head issue. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:

(1) Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. If for some reason it does not follow these instructions:
(a) Unplug the printer
(b) Manually slide the carriage over until you can get the ink cartridges out.
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol or hot water or a mix of hot water and isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

If that does not work, then you need to try soaking the print head. In this case:
(1) Remove the print head from the printer
(2) Soak it in hot water for an hour or so
(3) Remove it, let it dry completely
(4) Replace the print head and cartridges and test it

Why isnt printer printing full page, only printing every second line, has ink dried up in cartridge? do I need to clean some heads or something??

Yes flush it!

Flushing the print head of the cartridge directly from the tap water

1. Open your printer cover
2. Remove the cartridge
3. Place the printhead directly on a tap water running slowly. This will help flush the dried ink that clogged in the printhead.
4. Turn the printhead over, bottom side up until you see the ink flowed out from the printhead, do this until you see the a smooth flow of ink..(better result if the water is warm)
5. Tap water contains residual minerals that can clog also the printhead..so it is advisable to final flush the printhead with a distilled water (it has no impurities) and dry it with cloth..
6. The last thing to do and it will take you sometime is to soak the printhead portion of your cartridge in a mixture of ammonia and hot distilled water, (please make sure that the contact point of the cartridge to the printer is not soak).. Place the printhead on the hot water and leave it there for about 4 to 5 hours..move it on different location from time to time..After soaking, rinse it with distilled water and dry it with cloth...

After doing the instructions, return back the cartridge to the printer and do the printhead alignment..

Try printing a test page and see the outcome...

Have ink, but its not printing. the paper is doing the right thing ,but not putting ink on paper

Please make sure that the print head is not clogged. The ink can flow out easily from the print head. How do you know if there is no dry ink clogging the print head? Remove the cartridge and run the print head in a soft smooth paper, see if the inks was left in the paper proportionally. If no ink marks then its clogged.

On my HP Officejet 4215, my black cartridge doesn't print. The cartridge is nearly full.

If you haven't used the black print option, as in to print without using the color cartridges, then the black print head may be 'gummed up'.
You can try to clean the print head using the 'clean' function, which may work.
You can also try to get the print head to work by using ammonia and hot water. If the cartridge has its own print head, you can use some hot water on a paper towel and set the print head onto the soaked towel for a few minutes. After it has sat for a while, gently dab it dry with another paper towel, and try to use it. If it works, you're done. If not, you can use ammonia to try to clean the print head using the same tactics as using water. Try water first, then ammonia.
If the print head is fixed in place, you have to remove the whole assembly from the printer, and then try to clean the print head using the same method.

I need a new print head

Check if the service station proper covers the black nozzles when the printhead is parked. Sometimes the mechanics change its position and the printhead dries out.
Try to unclog the nozzles with very hot water. Sometimes it helps. The new printhead is very expensive and you may want to buy a new printer instead.
Remove the printhed, put it in a bowl with the nozzles down and fill with boiled water until the nozzles are covered. Wait 15 min and dry the electric contacts with a dry napkin. Good luck!

Both colored & black ink tanks are new but nothing comes out

I have had this problem before. Try removing print head and cartirdges. get warm water in bowl and swirl head in water until water remains clear. Need to empty and refill water a few times. Pat dry with absorbent paper. Re-install head and cartridges and do a clean.
