Question about Panasonic PT-53TW53 53" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My motherlaw has a panasonic HDTV that sets on a separate base. Because the tv cabinet expands and contacts when turned on and off and the base doesn't, the snapping sound was a mechanical problem related to expansion and contraction...not electronics. I fixed the problem by isolating the tv and the base with a piece of slippery plastic. The snapping sound hasn't come back. Weird problem, but was easy enough to resolve.
