Question about Toshiba SD-V392 DVD Player/VCR
The drive belt is most likely broken inside. The motor runs but doesn't open. This requires a new belt. Unfortunately I have trouble finding a new belt and if you open it you void any warranty still in force. So unless you find a belt, or a repair man, you will most likely need a new unit.

Symptom : my dvd811 door would not open, but displayed 'open', 'close', 'no disk' as if it thought it was working.
After keeping 'open' button depressed on set and remote, and switching off and on, and waiting, with no success - read suggestions here, disconnected it from everything, took it out, re-connected to power, switched on and it worked first time. DVD players work in mysterious ways.

Do replace the loading belt in the loader unit ,the belt is serrated (full of cracks) and is very dry .The belt slips when pulling .
