Question about Washing Machines

Hotpoint washer Won't rinse

Hotpoint 9540 washer goes through wash program OK, pumps empty OK then won't rinse. I just changed the door seal/boot, could I have done something to cause the rinse cycle not to start. Note this model does not have a filter and does pump out fine at the end of the wash cycle on any program.

Re: Hotpoint washer Won't rinse

Your cold water valve will be your problem or you've turned the water supply off, if the supply is not off put the machine on to the final rinse if it fills it will be the main rinse valve gone. The cold water valve is a double one with 2 solaniods. Unplug the machine turn water supply off remove fill hose there are 2 screws keeping the top on, remove them lift the lid off.undo the screws that keep the valve on, take note wiring and remove pull the black hoses off, replace with new one. The resistance of the valve will be around 3.4 kohms

SOURCE: Washer Won't Rinse (Hotpoint)

Suggestion: Try cleaning your outlet filter. This needs periodic cleaning, according to your usage. Refer to user's manual re. the cleaning. When it is the rinse problem it usually is the filter block.

Washer Control Locked blinking and won't washer won't work

Water still in the bottom of the drum. Empty, clean filter and check pump is turning. Once pressure switch is satisfied no water is left it'll allow the door to open, assuming the door interlock is still ok.

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.

Ariston AML125 won´t spin or empty water.

Dislodge the white covering infront (just located at the bottom). Once opened, unscrew the black button at the right hand side. Once open, check for blockages like coins, loose items, even lint. This worked for me and saved me $$$!!!! Now my Ariston is back to its superb performance. Do read the manula once in a while, it does help!
