Question about AudioBahn DUB Mag Audio DUB2502 Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

DUB2502 amp I have a DUB2502 amp that I had bridged to two Visonic's 12in Speakers...I'm running a Kenwood stereo and when I turned the radio up past 30 the amp went into protection mode. I've unplugged all the wires except the power wire, ground, and remote and the light stays red...any suggestions?

Re: DUB2502 amp

You probably have the speakers set to where it ecxeeds the ohm load limits. its only 4 ohm stable when bridged and two ohm stable when ran using two channels. so either run the speakers at 8 ohms each parallel or just hook one speaker to eack channel. if you do not know what i am talking about then just email me at and give me the speaker specifications.

Can you bridge the kenwood KR-A4020? And how to run in 4 ohm

Home amplifiers are generally not built to be bridged. I would not recommend doing so. If you are connecting 8 ohm speakers, connecting two in parallel ("+"s together, "-"s together) would create a 4 ohm load on the amp channel. No changes to the amp are necessary.

I have an alpine mrv-f307 4/3/2 channel. I have it hooked up to 2 12in Kenwood subs. Right now standard 2 channel each sub having their own. I heard doing a series hook up and bridging the subs to the amp ...

Bridging an amplifier refers to combining the power of two channels to run one speaker at higher power. If it is wired correctly, your amplifier is running with 4 channels bridged into 2 speakers now.

How to bridge a kenwood kac-9105d

Are you referring to something like this, using two different amps? It is a mono amp, meaning there's one amp in the box.
"KAC-9105D also has a Dual Mono Drive connection that allows you to strap two KAC-9105D amps together to power a single subwoofer."Quoted from

Here's a link to a page out of the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement book. the top shows a stereo amp (1 box, two different amps inside) hooked up to drive two different speakers, which is known as 'stereo' mode.It then shows the two amps hooked to the opposite sides of the same speaker, which is known as 'bridge' mode.

Any help?

I need to know the wattege of a kenwood kac -624

The KAC-624 is a 40 watt x2 @ 4 ohm RMS amp. 55 watt x2 @ 2ohm. 110 watt x 1 Bridged I assume at 4 ohm. Manual does not specify. It can run 2 ohm in stereo mode but is unclear on mono impedance requirement. It can run 4 ohm mono at 110 watt but at 2 ohm?

My kenwood KAC-7204--- the wiring is hooked up right, I just got a 2000 watt max sub 1000 watt rms, i was running the amp in bridge mode and it ran for 1 day than it turned off. I checked it and the fuse...

when i was running my sub off bridge mode this kept happening to me. I ended up just running two subs and for some reason the fuse stopped blowing. i think there is something wrong with these amps.

Bridging issues

There's no signal on the L- and R+ terminals.

If you're going to bridge both speakers on the amp, each speaker must have an impedance of 8 ohms (or more). If you're unsure of the impedance of the speakers, connect one speaker to each channel.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Installation of dub2502 amp with duel xd7500 and scosche 10kt/se12kt subs

Well that is a lot to go over, but I will try. You can get the user's manual for the stereo that includes the install on this page
With the amplifier, you will want to hook one speaker into each channel unless the subs have dual voice coils. This means that it will have 2 terminals instead of one. If they do then let me know and I will lend a hand with that. Polarity counts so make sure to go positive to positive. On the problem of checking the amp to see if it works, unless you have it installed, it would be a big pain depending on what kind of test equipment you have. A few tips on running the amp wires back. Run the power and RCA's on different sides of the car. Make sure you have a good, clean, metal to metal, solid ground. Always go through the fire wall with the power wire. There is usually a boot somewhere you can go through instead of running through the door jam. Let me know what kind of car and I might be able to find you a pass through. Then check and double check the connections at the amp. Let me know if you have any more questions. I hope it goes well.

My Kenwood 800watt amplifier

Sounds like you have overloaded your amp. When you bridge you MUST make sure that you still have the proper speaker load. One 4 ohm speaker on one channel is fine, but when you bridge that same 4 ohm speaker, it gives you a 2 ohm load on each of the two channels that are now bridged. If you made the mistake of wiring two 4 ohm speakers in parallel (plus to plus and minus to minus) then when you bridge you will be driving a one ohm load on each channel. This is very close to a dead short. Stop using your amp at once until you get your speaker load correct. This will damage your amp and it will cause you to have to go to a repair shop to fix it. DO NOT RUN YOUR AMP ANYMORE UNTIL YOU FIX THIS. Good luck.
